an abundance of stories to tell. This story is the story of the Michigan born rapper, S. White (Steve
Kaiser).
S. White started walking down the path of music at the age of sixteen. At that age, S.White teamed up
with fellow classmate Kreep and they formed the duo Tha L.Y.N.X. In the beginning they expressed
their creativity by making “tapes” over instrumentals of popular artists. However, they soon started going
to a professional studio to record what would be their debut. In the fall of 1998, they released their first
EP, “Welcome to the Future”.
The album caught the ear of a local label, Rhymez Star Records. After meeting with the founders of
Rhymez Star, the two soon began working on a project with the founders of the label entitled Rhymez
Star Galactica. Tha L.Y.N.X. were featured throughout the entirety of the album. It was released in
1999 and received little attention.
It was around that time that Tha L.Y.N.X. made a conscious effort to perform anywhere they could get
a mic in their hand. They played extensively throughout Detroit, the surrounding suburbs, Flint and
beyond. They became well known for their shows at frat houses throughout Michigan colleges that they
dubbed the Animal House Tour.
Rhymez Star had slowly started to fall apart and Tha L.Y.N.X. teamed up with local manager and
promoter Uncle P to release their full length debut. They began recording at the Brick House studio
under the tutelage of their producer Big C and Black Gypsy’s Wil Black. In 2002, they released their first
and only full length album, New Beginnings.
As we all know, life happens while making plans, between 2002 and 2004 Tha L.Y.N.X performed less
frequently and fatigue settled in. They recorded some material for a follow up and made an appearance on
Abrasive Method’s freshman album “4 A.M.”, song titled “Straight Shot”.
However, S.White removed himself from music as an artist and took on the role of mentor for fellow
local hip hop group Abrasive Method. Eventually S.White would take on a partnership in Abrasive
Method’s Role Model Records, Which is now know as Five30 Music.
During the next few years, S.White started recording what would become his first solo album. With the
support of A.M.’s front man Charlie Beans lending his skilled production the album slowly took shape.
The album titled “The Last Boyscout” encompasses everything that White has been through, what his
eyes and ears have seen and heard, S.White takes you into his personal life, his ups and downs, his
dreams and memories of the good old days. S story full of emotions everyone can relate to.
Only time will tell where S.White stands in the history of music, and no matter where, it will be exactly
where he wants to be. He has an uncanny ability to story tell and produce an almost flawless flow,
The man is more than just your typical rapper. He’s more than just another fan who thought he’d chance
it on the mic. He is what encompasses the art of hip-hop. His opus “The Last Boy Scout” is life put to
rhythm and rhymes.
