Honestly the first half of this film is almost unwatchable... however the revenge killings are some of the best I have seen in this type of genre! Often times the killings are too quick and the perpetrators don't really get their comeuppance but these were extremely thought out, well done, and much deserved!

If you want one the torturing the perp is drawn out, 7 Days ( or 7 Days of retaliation) is your film, I'm pretty sure it's streaming on prime TV, It's a very powerful film, unpleasant in every way imaginable, but it pulls no punches when it shows the duality of catharsis and guilt when getting revenge.

Honestly I liked this remake more than I did the original. They spent more time on the revenge killings and they were very very creative. They definitely didn’t skimp on the blood and gore.

This is one film that I love but I find it so difficult to watch.
The first half is so horrible, but then it makes you root for her when she gets her revenge. Which is absolutely epic.

This movie was the worst most over done brutal grape scene in history. I watched it years ago not knowing it was going to take such gruesome turn and I watched it during a overnight shift with 2 males co -workers . I was sick how glued they were to the screen… I couldn’t finish watching it with them.

Lol I absolutely LOVE the revenge kills! Very creative too! I have to say while I love the kills and some of the pre-death torture but personally, hands down my favorite isn't one of the killings itself and not the physical torture but the MENTAL torture. Specifically when she makes the asshole sheriff believe that she took his daughter along with her out of sight. Obviously Jwere all mostly aware that jennifer probably won't kill a little girl whose innocent and had no part in this just as his wife didn't either. She's a vengeful vigilante/anti-hero not a complete monster. WE know that but HE DOESNT. Seeing the panic and fear he exhibits is soooo satisfying. Because for once he's not top dog anymore. He has zero control of the situation he put himself in and it scares him. While on that drove to the park all he can think about is all the horrific and brutal ways she can inflict pain/death. He doesn't know what's happening and it's a lose lose situation cause part of him doesn't want to know what she mightve done but the other part he wants to know due to hating the unknown. A parents worse fear is this exact scenario. It was delicious to see him go through what his victims loved ones go through. To not only see the possible loss of his daughters innocence but to also know that HE was the direct cause of it.

I would say, Mathew was a victim too. He clearly had intellectual disability, and was forced into it by the other guys. It was not consensual, so I would count Mathew's case as sexual assault too. I think that's why his death was the quickest and the least painful out of everyone.

The Jennifer is the true victim here, despite her getting revenge, she went through a serious amount of trauma which she was extremely close to dying. Her physical wounds may heal but her psychological won't will probably be there for life. Which lead to her evolution into a possible serial killer in part 3. Does men deserved the fate they got but i can't help but wonder what Jennifer did to the Sherrif's Daughter

To me, this is so much more realistic than a movie like John Wick. I of course love that movie but for heaven's sake, at the end, he just shoots the kid. No way. Well, okay, he might but I wouldn't. If someone caused that much grief for me, I would want to make that person suffer for as long as possible. A single shot to the head is hardly punishment for what the other person has done. Anyway, getting back to this movie, even though it's unlikely, I do appreciate the idea that the woman would want to get her revenge in the most painful way possible. So kudos to the director for having a character who exemplifies the idea of revenge. (P.S. There is another movie--I can't think of the name though--where a guy tortures another guy by tying him to a chair, burning him and then extinguishing the fire so that he will live and continue to suffer. That is next level torture!)

Do not watch the grape if you are sensitive in any way to that stuff. a small example of how fucked it is... DO NOT READ IF SENSITIVE! the sheriff tells her he is more of an ass guy or something and the scene suggests anal grape (Thats the context I got from it) The revenge is top tier shit tho.
