The song represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy, after being selected by the Dutch public broadcaster AVROTROS. It is the first time since 2010 that a song sung entirely in Dutch represented the country at Eurovision. A week after the contest, the song topped the Dutch singles chart. The song was later included in S10's third studio album, Ik besta voor altijd zolang jij aan mij denkt, released on 28 October 2022. The song tells about Den Hollander's most personal memories. According to Den Hollander, "It's a tribute to the sadness and memories that you carry with you. Everyone experiences difficult times in their lives. That's something we all have in common and I hope [people] will feel less alone when [they] listen to the song".

Yeah it's not harsh when you drop (non silent) consonants from words completely, half pronounce words, and make native speakers require subtitles to understand parts of it. This can barely be called Dutch, this is some made up artistic dialect.

It's a beautiful and emotional song indeed. The song is not about a bf that died. Literally, it's about reaching out to a loved one from the deepness inside and not wanting to let them go. The idea behind the song is that it's a ode / love letter to the lonelyness and darkness inside all of us. When we are listening to this song together, we share the same feeling and feel less lonely. All songs of S10 are about psychological and emotional struggles, but very beautiful.

This is my second favourite song in ESC of all time (first being ESC 2018 Greece Oniro Mou). This is absolutely beautiful and I hope one day Stien will release something that everyone will hear and adore and that she will able to finally get what she deserves. Shoot, this is a beautiful song. She performs it so well, too. Also, my mum & Grandma are Dutch, & hearing this reminded me of being a kid & listening to them talk in Dutch when they didn't want us to know what they were talking about! One of the few real songs that Eurovision had this year. Its a dangerous process to compare music´s (anyone is entitled to have their own taste), but when you have a song like this who finishes 11th and you have Spain and Sweden in the top 5, you know that´´s something wrong in the world. Maro, S10 and Konstrakta itself gave us real songs, with real feelings, and real effort in the lyrics but somehow didnt manage to get as high as they deserve. Regardless of the standings this song is a killer. Congratulations to the Netherlands for giving us a great song, in their native language with so much heart and soul.

Not only my favorite Eurovision song, but also my favorite song in general. I just love everything about it. And I do not even speak dutch. Stien is really charismatic and has an amazing voice, which is why I was attached to this song right away. I also started following her music outside of Eurovision and I love her unique style of doing music and how she expresses herself in the songs. Very grateful that Eurovision introduced me to her. For everyone who doesn’t speak Dutch, but is interested what this beautiful song is about, this is what S10 herself said in Dutch interviews: Literally, it's about reaching out to a loved one from the deepness inside and not wanting to let them go. And the idea behind the song is that it's a ode / love letter to the lonelyness and darkness inside all of us.
