Se7en has also acted the lead role of the Korean drama Goong S, a spin-off of popular drama Goong. Although the first season of Goong was a hit, Goong S has failed to attract many viewers. Despite the low ratings, Goong S is the most searched and rewatched drama online; ranking higher than its competition: KBS2 Dal Ja's Spring and SBS Surgeon Bong Dal Hee. The drama has also gained a wide variety of support from international fans in the U.S., Thailand, Malaysia, Brazil, Singapore, etc.
Se7en has been preparing for his debut in the U.S. Mark Shimmel, Rich Harrison, and Noize Trip are helping Se7en to create his first English language album. It was also reported that Teddy from 1TYM has produced a song for Se7en's American album and possibly will make more songs.
On March 10, 2009, Se7en debuted in the U.S. with the digital single Girls, featuring Lil' Kim.

The lyrics to Se7en's song "Hikari" speak about a nameless flower that blooms unnoticed between the gaps of a building. Throughout the seasons, the flower continues to bloom and survive despite its anonymity, while the snow falls white all around it. The singer of the song has spent a long time looking up at the sky, seeking out a sunbeam to reach. They reach out towards it and embrace the dreams with a trembling heart. They have been consumed in the noise, the crowd, the chatter, yet they believe that there's a tomorrow waiting to shine brightly.
The singer goes on to say that they were once in a state where they did not know why they were born or their purpose in life. Just as they were thinking that they would wither and dry out in obscurity, someone reached out both their hands towards the singer. Overflowing tears spilled from within the singer as they came to realize that there was a shining tomorrow awaiting them. The singer believes that it is better to keep striving and believing than to give up completely. No matter what kind of past they have experienced, they can embrace it and look towards the sky; the doubt in their heart will clear up like the gaps in the clouds.
