The sisters are classically-trained musicians. Emerging from the artist colony of Fort Collins on the Eastern slope of Colorado, SHEL is sophisticated and youthful, emotional and lighthearted, classic and eccentric. SHEL's engaging live show is marked with a prodigy's creativity and a veteran's instinct for entertaining. At every performance, SHEL delights audiences with their unique songwriting style and fresh, new sound.

Sarah, 19 (Violin, Bass) - Immensely gifted as a violinist and vocalist, Sarah also shines with her bass chops. Highly creative, Sarah's diverse artistic talents have lead her to be the primary designer of SHEL's original graphics and videography. She is also the undisputed ambassador of fun at every show.

Hannah, 22 (Piano, Keyboards) An award-winning young composer and pianist, Hannah also sings and helps arrange SHEL's unique vocal harmonies. Hannah has been studying at Colorado State University for the past three years where she's concentrated on piano performance and composition.

Eva, 20 (Mandolin, Electric Mandolin, Cello) Lead vocalist and one of the band's primary writers, Eva's passion and talent for playing both acoustic and electric mandolin has received widespread recognition. Involved in every phase of arranging and production, Eva records much of the band's tracks in their home studio.

Liza, 16 (Drums, Percussion) - Liza's natural polyrhythmic ability was spotted at an early age. Not only is she the drummer for the band, Liza is equally proficient on the Djembe and Roland Hand Sonic drum. Her creative approach to percussion enables her to create the unique rhythm patterns that help define SHEL's music.

The group glides effortlessly atop the lilting, sublime voices of the Holbrook sisters, Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza. But Shel's appeal goes way beyond the vocals. These gals are exceptional musicians as well, with each member playing an array of instruments including violin, electric bass, piano, mandolin to drums. The sisters, which got their start backing their singer-songwriter dad Andrew, have already attracted the attention of soundtrack supervisor extraordinaire, Chris Douridas from KCRW, who listed their six-song EP, Try To Scream, as "one of the most impressive debuts of the year." one of my favorite things about this song is the almost always overlooked reference to a poem called "The Jabberwocky" by lewis carrol which was insane in wording(quite literally called a nonsense poem). The references are the lines "Don’t let moments pass along and waste before your eyes,

Oh, I noticed it too. I have ADHD, and music is a great way to block out distracting stimuli and get at least some concentration. However, I found that songs with lyrics don't work for me quite well, so I only use music from pragmaticNihilist and Jake Chudnow.

I just found this artist thanks to the all powerful algorithm. I've had YouTube premium for less than a week and already YouTube music showed me Cosmo and I love it. There's such a distinct style, it's intense but somehow calming and almost tribal at times but still modern and fun.

In 1284, while the town of Hamelin was suffering from a rat infestation, a piper dressed in multicolored ("pied") clothing appeared, claiming to be a rat-catcher. He promised the mayor a solution to their problem with the rats. The mayor, in turn, promised to pay him for the removal of the rats (according to some versions of the story, the promised sum was 1,000 guilders). The piper accepted and played his pipe to lure the rats into the Weser River, where they all drowned.[4]

Despite the piper's success, the mayor reneged on his promise and refused to pay him the full sum (reputedly reduced to a sum of 50 guilders) even going so far as to blame the piper for bringing the rats himself in an extortion attempt. Enraged, the piper stormed out of the town, vowing to return later to take revenge. On Saint John and Paul's day, while the adults were in church, the piper returned dressed in green like a hunter and playing his pipe. In so doing, he attracted the town's children. One hundred and thirty children followed him out of town and into a cave and were never seen again. Depending on the version, at most three children remained behind: one was lame and could not follow quickly enough, the second was deaf and therefore could not hear the music, and the last was blind and therefore unable to see where he was going. These three informed the villagers of what had happened when they came out from church.[4]

Other versions relate that the Pied Piper led the children to the top of Koppelberg Hill, where he took them to a beautiful land,[5] or a place called Koppenberg Mountain,[6] or Transylvania, or that he made them walk into the Weser as he did with the rats, and they all drowned. Some versions state that the Piper returned the children after payment, or that he returned the children after the villagers paid several times the original amount of gold.[4][7]

@@bw-e6069 Actually, fairies and faeries are very different. Fairies are these sweet magical creatures that are often portrayed in children's books, however faeries include tons of different species. Faeries are essentially demons, the general elf looking faeries attempt to lure people into their realm, stealing them away from reality, or giving them a 'gift' which will come back to hurt the person who took it, as fae make trades, they don't give gifts. Another fae would include sirens for instance

It fascinates me that all the references to classic literature, children's stories, fairytales and nursery rhymes, blend so seamless to create a wonderous enchantment in a forlorn world, the likes of which I haven't feel since reading Terry Pratchett's "Lords and Ladies" when I was young. Heffalump is from Winnie The Pooh (at least, as far as I know), Borogroves and Silthy Troves are both from Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky, the reference to "the pigsty" is a classic in both Hans Christian Andersen's and Brothers Grimm's fairytales, and the entire thing is wrapped in the energy of woodland spirits who lure kids away from home. This is magnificent. My comparison to "lords and Ladies" comes from the fact that in the story the elves are described as instilling wonder in people, making them do as they're bid, when in reality the elves are terrible creatures, but noone sees that except for the few who see the world as it really is.

This song to me, feels like it was sung by a charismatic evil spirit - beckoning and persuading you to abandon everything you've ever lived for to come enter its lair. A mysterious, cold cave located deep in the forest covered in moss and roots. Ancient paintings and symbols, lines of torches and bioluminescent plants decorating the interior of the lair. Once you enter, you never come back.

This song informs the listener that although life may be fleeting, the listener has the answer and power, by examining and keeping within oneself, to live a life free from greed, anger, and boredom--but it takes a lot to get there. Notice he doesn't say free from "fear" because greed, anger, and boredom are learned where as "fear" is innate. Cosmo is not of our of times, his lyrics tell me that his soul was born about 250 years ago and its just now found a physical body to inhabit. Cosmo, you have a lot more in you.
