They made their debut on May 25, during SBS Inkigayo with their promotional single, "누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)". The group consists of Onew (온유), Jonghyun (종현), Key (키), Minho (민호) and Taemin (태민).

Since their debut, SHINee has won numerous awards. The group has starred in various shows as guests as well as in their own reality shows like Mnet’s “Shinee’s YunHaNam” and KBS’s “Hello Baby.” SHINee are considered to be fashion icons, having started the "SHINee Trend," which is popular amongst the younger generation.
SHINee have featured in tours of SM Town as well as in their own concert, The SHINee World.
In June 2011, they made their Japanese debut with EMI Music Japan.

To date, they have released eight Korean studio albums, The SHINee World (2008), LUCIFER (2010), the two-part Dream Girl: The Misconceptions of You/Why So Serious?: The Misconceptions of Me (2013), Odd (2015), 1 of 1 (2016) , The Story of Light (2018), Don't Call Me (2021) and their most recent album, HARD (2023).
SHINee has also released five Korean mini-albums: Replay (2008), ROMEO (2009), 2009, Year of Us (2009), Sherlock (2012), Everybody (2013) .

Overall Meaning

Jonghyun. I want to talk about your musicality first. You possessed a talent that no other will be able to again. I love the power behind your voice. I love the way that you pronounce your words and how you choose to articulate your vocals. Your voice was so pure and thorough, and it is so evident how much passion you had for singing. You were born with a gift, with this instrument and you managed to master it and share it through various styles of songs. I love that your voice could adapt to whatever concept or style that you were met with, and you were able to diversify your lines without losing the qualities that define your voice. You were meant to be singing and warming hearts with your voice. At the same time, you were one of the most phenomenal dancers that I knew. You danced in such a way that made you stand out when executing these, while still blending in with the rest of your members. It is so easy to watch you dance because of the how naturally you moved. When you were on stage, you moved so flawlessly and so comfortably. You moved in a way that demonstrated your personal expression, but still showed all of the characteristics of Shinee’s choreographies. You paid so much attention to all of the details, and your facial expressions are included there as well. You brought Shinee’s choreographies to life and infused into them so much of your experience and professionalism as a dancer. Overall, I hope you know how legendary of an artist you were and will always be. You are the reason we have music the way we do today, and we needed your contributions to help create its future. Hey, ID ARE talented and I am a SHAWOL!! Universal Japan do not intend to change anyone into anyone. If five boys are outdoors singing, doesn't mean EVERY one is 1D. Thinking like that is just stupid and awfully unbelievable. I mean, did u even listen to both their songs? I haven't heard many of 1D's songs, but they are NOTHING like SHINee in any sense! As aforementioned, you put all of your members first before anything in your own life and you love them in such a way that they could not feel otherwise. You have helped raise each and every one of them in their own respective rights. They all have hearts of gold, such as you, because of the nurturing and loyalty you've provided them with over the years. I know that none of them could be where they are without you and they could never achieve these accomplishments without your help and guidance. You have been the greatest friend, but most importantly, their most trusted brother to accompany them through all of life’s endeavors. Wow! Key and Minho sing the first verses of the song and Jinki is the center! It seems that in this song they have enjoyed to discombobulate their roles in SHINee! It's fun! The nice thing about SHINee is that they are a group with 5 singers with very different voices, if they exchange the roles in the group they would seem a completely different band! I really like LuckyStar! It's refreshing! I wonder if after the singles they will realise a full CD! I hope, I can't wait!
