Since their debut, SHINee has won numerous awards. The group has starred in various shows as guests as well as in their own reality shows like Mnet’s “Shinee’s YunHaNam” and KBS’s “Hello Baby.” SHINee are considered to be fashion icons, having started the "SHINee Trend," which is popular amongst the younger generation.
SHINee have featured in tours of SM Town as well as in their own concert, The SHINee World.
In June 2011, they made their Japanese debut with EMI Music Japan.
To date, they have released eight Korean studio albums, The SHINee World (2008), LUCIFER (2010), the two-part Dream Girl: The Misconceptions of You/Why So Serious?: The Misconceptions of Me (2013), Odd (2015), 1 of 1 (2016) , The Story of Light (2018), Don't Call Me (2021) and their most recent album, HARD (2023).
SHINee has also released five Korean mini-albums: Replay (2008), ROMEO (2009), 2009, Year of Us (2009), Sherlock (2012), Everybody (2013) .
They have also released five Japanese studio albums: The First (2011), Boys Meet U (2013), I'm Your Boy (2014), D×D×D (2016) and FIVE (2017), and one Japanese mini-album: SUPERSTAR (2021).

The lyrics to SHINee's "SHINe" describe the feeling of wanting to be close to someone who is shining bright like a spotlight. The first verse is sung by Jonghyun, where he describes the darkness that surrounds him when he can't get a glimpse of the person he wants to be near. Taemin describes how his eyes are blinded by the person's radiance, but he still desires to be close to them. Onew sings about the moon disappearing when the light shines too bright, and Key expresses his anticipation for the moment he can hold onto the two shining hands.
In the chorus, all members sing about how the person they want to be near shines in both the east and west, and that they want to be closer to them no matter what. The second verse is sung by Minho, where he talks about how the light is so powerful that it can make his whole body disappear. Onew sings about how he can't see anything else when the light is shining, and Taemin expresses his desire to understand the person who is shining so bright.
The bridge is a solo by Jonghyun, where he sings about wanting to reach for the person who is shining and wanting to be closer to them. The final chorus is a repetition of the first chorus, showing the members' persistent desire to be close to the person who shines so bright.
