SMP Lyrics

Mengapa kau meninggalkanku?
Ternyata kamu selingkuh
selingkuh di belakangku
lalu apa kau memanggilku
tiba2 kau minta maaf padaku
aku ingin engkau pergi dalam
hidupku tanoa dirimu
dirimu... sayang...
The lyrics above are from SMP's song "September". It talks about a relationship where one person discovers that their partner has been cheating on them, causing them to feel betrayed and hurt. The first two lines, "mengapa kau menjauhiku, mengapa kau meninggalkanku" translates to "why did you distance yourself from me, why did you leave me?" The feeling of confusion and sadness is prevalent in these lines. The next line, "ternyata kamu selingkuh, selingkuh di belakangku," translates to "it turns out you were cheating, cheating behind my back." This line reveals the reason for the distance and the leaving.
The next lines show that even though the person who was betrayed wants the cheating partner out of their life, the pain of having to let go is still present. "Aku ingin engkau pergi dalam hidupku tanpa dirimu" means "I want you to leave my life without you" and "tapi ku tak rela meninggalkan dirimu...sayang" translates to "but I can't bear to leave you...my love." It shows that although the relationship is painful, it is still difficult to let go of someone you loved. The last line, "lalu apa kau memanggilku, tiba2 kau minta maaf padaku" means "then why did you call me suddenly and apologize to me?" This line suggests that the cheating partner regrets their actions and is trying to make amends.
Overall, "September" is a sad and emotional song about the pain of betrayal and the difficulty of letting go of someone who has hurt you.
