SMP Lyrics

I cannot believe the words that flow from your mouth
I am not your man so find another trick
I am not your money please back off of this now
Take a trip
Another generation of victims and aggressors
Tell me why it is you imitate your oppressors
I'll show you the door the door to drop out now
One more corridor to run upon a world of rage
I cannot escape this cage of city blocks a maze
Help is just a barcode everyday a wire trip
Protect my high with this it's all I wish now
The lyrics of SMP's song "Trip" convey a sense of alienation from society and a rejection of conforming to mainstream norms in order to maintain one's individuality. The song is a protest against social oppression and those who perpetrate it. The first line of the song, "I'm not one of you so don't you try to turn me out," is a declaration of independence and a refusal to conform to the expectations of others. The second sentence, "I cannot believe the words that flow from your mouth," is a critique of the superficiality and insincerity of mainstream culture.
The chorus, "Take a trip," is a call to action, a suggestion that people should explore new ideas and ways of thinking rather than blindly following societal norms. The second verse of the song, "Another generation of victims and aggressors / Tell me why it is you imitate your oppressors," is an observation about how people often perpetuate the same patterns of oppression they have experienced themselves.
The last part of the song, "One more corridor to run upon a world of rage / I cannot escape this cage of city blocks a maze / Help is just a barcode everyday a wire trip / Protect my high with this it's all I wish now," conveys a feeling of being trapped and seeking escape from oppressive surroundings. The words "barcode" and "wire trip" suggest a connection to technology, possibly commenting on how people use devices and social media to escape reality.
Overall, the lyrics of SMP's song "Trip" encourage listeners to reject conformity, examine their own behavior and that of others, and seek new ways to break free from oppressive patterns.
