The 26 first generation members of SNH48 were announced on October 15 2012. Soon after that, AKB48 members Miyazawa Sae and Suzuki Mariya joined the group as a result of currently taking part in AKB48's overseas temporary transfer program. The second generation members were announced in August 2013, and formed team NII, whereas the first generation formed team SII.
On July 26th, 2014, during SNH48's first general election concert, the third generation members were introduced.
