In April 2013, Taylor signed to 4AD. His first release through 4AD, Bloodflows, reached #1 on the Amazing Radio chart. In September, follow up track Lessons was released with an Olivier Groulx-directed, Dazed & Confused-premiered music video. In April 2014, debut album Tremors was released with lead single Artifice. The album charted in several European countries and received favorable reviews.
After temporarily trading Vienna for Northern California, SOHN spent several months alone writing and recording the ten tracks which form his sophomore LP 'Rennen' (January 2017). The album was preceded by 'Signal' and 'Conrad'.
Along with his own work, Taylor has also worked with other artists - writing and producing Banks's Alibi and Waiting Game, remixing Lana Del Rey's Ride, and producing songs on Rita Ora's new album.

Did it end while I was gone?
'Cause my shoulders
Couldn't hold that weight for long
And it all just feels the same
Somebody better let me know my name
Before I give myself away
'Cause I know I'm not at the wheel
Is it over?
Did it last or come undone?
'Cause I told ya
I didn't wanna hurt no one
But the faces are all the same
Somebody better let me know my name
Before I give myself away
Somebody better show me how I feel
'Cause I know I'm not at the wheel
Somebody better let me know my name
Before I give myself away
Somebody better show me how I feel
'Cause I know I'm not at the wheel
Somebody better let me know my name
Before I give myself away
Somebody better show me how I feel
'Cause I know I'm not at the wheel
The lyrics of SOHN's song Artifice seem to describe a person who feels lost and disconnected from their own identity. The opening lines question whether a significant relationship or event has ended while the person was away. The line "my shoulders couldn't hold that weight for long" suggests that the person may have been carrying a heavy burden or responsibility. However, even though something may have ended, the singer notes that "it all just feels the same." They feel stuck and unable to move forward.
The chorus repeats the plea for someone to "let me know my name" and to "show me how I feel," suggesting that the person is unsure of their own identity and emotions. The line "I know I'm not at the wheel" further emphasizes the sense of feeling out of control.
The second verse continues with the theme of uncertainty and confusion, questioning whether something lasted or fell apart. The singer insists that they didn't want to hurt anyone, but "the faces are all the same," indicating a sense of detachment and feeling like everything and everyone is blending together.
Overall, the lyrics of Artifice convey a sense of disorientation and disconnection from one's self and surroundings. The repeated plea for someone to "let me know my name" suggests a longing for a sense of belonging and identity.
