SOiL Lyrics

Of what's is ripe inside
And never ending
And they say
I move with the breeze if I can
Cause the grass won't grow where I stand
Knowing something if not everything
Laughter is something so they say
You can't fake dreams away
I move with the breeze if I can
Cause the grass won't grow where I stand
Knowing something if not everything
Stone the simple man
Make a mark on many at passing times
Take a power trip crazy within due style
Knowing something if not everything
Stone the simple man
Everything it leaves you something
And nothing starts the hunting
That's never ending
And again
[CHORUS]
The lyrics to SOiL's song "Everything" reflect a sense of restlessness and a desire for change. The first verse describes excuses as things that hold back personal growth and potential. "Excuses they are what's giving, Of what's is ripe inside, And never ending," suggests that it's easy to fall back on excuses and avoid taking risks, but doing so can lead to a stagnant (or even rotten) internal state. The chorus reads, "I move with the breeze if I can, Cause the grass won't grow where I stand, Knowing something if not everything, Stone the simple man," indicating a willingness and desire to adapt to new situations and to not remain in one place out of fear.
The lyrics in the second verse reflect a sense of uncertainty and a search for meaning. "Laughter is something, so they say, You can't fake dreams away," suggests that although there may be a facade of happiness or contentment, true emotions and desires cannot be hidden or ignored. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the theme of adaptation and knowledge-gathering through new experiences. The bridge reflects a desire for impact, to make a mark on people's lives or leave a legacy. "Make a mark on many at passing times, Take a power trip crazy within due style, Knowing something if not everything, Stone the simple man," suggests a desire for recognition and a quest for knowledge or experience.
Some possible interpretations of the song could be about personal growth or a desire to break away from comfort zones. It could also reflect a search for purpose or meaning in life, as well as a desire for impact or recognition.
