Hello again
SOiL Lyrics

Do you still love me the way you used to
So sorry I didn't turn out
The way you always wanted me to
Tell me your sick and tired
Sick and tired of the way I live my life
You could never understand me
Take a look from where I stand
Someday you just might understand...me
Hello again sweet mother
Do you still love me the way you used to
So sorry I didn't turn out
The way you always wanted me to
Hello again sweet mother
Turn me around...upside down again
You don't like my lots in this life
Or the decisions I've made in my time
Why's me being different make a difference to you...why
[CHORUS]
If I fell down sweet mother
Would you pick me up
Put me on the path of the straight and narrow
[CHORUS]
The lyrics of SOiL's song "Hello Again" is a poignant and emotive message to a mother who has given up on their child. The song speaks of the pain and hurt that the child feels from not living up to their mother's expectations. The singer addresses his mom and asks if she still loves him as she used to. He expresses deep regret for not turning out the way his mother wanted him to, but he also questions if she is sick and tired of the way he lives his life. He acknowledges that she could not understand him and implores her to take his hand and see the world from his perspective in the hope that she might someday understand him.
However, the song takes on a more somber tone when the singer asks why his being different matters so much to his mother. He pleads with his mother to turn him around and put him on the path of the straight and narrow, should he ever fall down. The song, "Hello Again" invites the listener to consider the complex relationship between a parent and their child and the importance of acceptance, understanding, and love in nurturing the growth and development of children.
