You Can Heal Me
SOiL Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Like a trembling leaf
Time passes slower
With each day of misery
things aren't so bad
Hey can you heal me
Hey, hey listen to me
And i get what i deserve
Hey, hey listen to me
Focus on your pain
Nothing else remains
How would you answer
If i did the same
Before i cut my skin
You need to look deeper within
In SOiL's song You Can Heal Me, the lyrics explore the idea of vulnerability and how life can feel fragile, like a trembling leaf. The song's narrator feels burdened by the weight of their pain and struggles to find solace in their day-to-day life. Time seems to pass slower when faced with misery and the weight of it all becomes overwhelming. However, despite their hardships, the singer is still somewhat hopeful as they ask for help with the lyrics "Hey can you heal me, hey, hey listen to me."
As the song continues, the lyrics shift in tone and suggest that the key to healing starts with focusing on one's pain. The singer urges the listener to look deeper within themselves before taking any drastic measures like self-harm, asking "Before I cut my skin, you need to look deeper within." The lyrics seem to be saying that true healing comes from within and that we must confront our pain head-on if we want to move past it.
Overall, the song's message is one of self-reflection and hope in the face of adversity. It encourages listeners to take a closer look at their own struggles and find the strength to heal from within.
