Destiny
STRYDEGOR Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Landscape across the Baltic dunes and shores
We survived destructive pitfalls with fire and snow
A hollow rush drones in our ears, seems that our enemies are back
Forces of challenging nature that want to stop us now
A storm will follow
See the water flowing
Feel the soddenness and hear the crying rain
With our faith
We'll always stand side by side
This is our fate
Together we don't have to hide!
As the winter starts in our seaside country
And coldness lies above hills and fields
Frostbitten forests in their white darkened coat
Reflexively we stow our prey, our destiny reveals our way
We go back to the ocean and abandon in our boats
We take a look to the encounter
Cruelty unfurls tonight
Seeing our remaining brothers die and mourn
We lost the battle against our spiritual forces
But our goal was never to give up
In our heathen hearts there always will be a fire
The lyrics of STRYDEGOR's "Destiny" describe a group of people wandering through the northern landscape across the Baltic dunes and shores. They have survived many challenges before and have been successful in overcoming them. However, now they hear a hollow rush in their ears which indicates that their enemies have returned, and they are forces of challenging nature that want to stop them in their tracks. Despite this, the group remains steadfast in their faith and decide to stand side by side with each other. They know that as the storm approaches, they will face the consequences of their decision to stand against their enemies.
As winter starts to set in, the group is reminded of their destiny. They take stock of their prey and return to the ocean, abandoning their boats to take a look at the unfolding encounter. The lyrics describe the cruelty of what they witness as their remaining brothers die and mourn. Despite their loss, the group remains determined not to give up. They always carry the fire of their heathen hearts, and this will be their guiding light as they face their destiny.
