Fresh off a tour with The Black Lips after playing this year’s Coachella, the band just released ‘Bort to Death’ a raw 4-track 7” on Hozac Records and "Romance" a dreamy 2-track flexi on Cult Records.
In the last three years they have supported acts such as The Dickies, Thee Oh Sees, Fat White Family, White Fang, Martin Rev, The Garden, Tijuana Panthers, The Mystery Lights, Tomorrows Tulips, Sunflower Bean, DIIV, GOGGS, The Dune Rats, Leftover Crack etc, Meatbodies, Ex-Cult, Hinds etc.
A favorite among local artists, it is no wonder when Julian Casablancas caught wind of the Surfbort’s electrifying energy, he signed them to Cult Records. Stay tuned for more from Cult Records and the band.

SURFBORT Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I now stare at the wall for score
Pockets full of posies
My knees bleed
Once you could have me
You don't want me
So good to know you one day
So good to hear you say
I coulda told ya you'd leave
In the sun i melt away i do
Deep in thick you feel it too
Lickin up soapy skys
Drippin honey runnin in my eye
Deep in the thick i can't see
What would i be if i couldn't be me
I don't do dope anymore
I now stare at the wall for score
In the lyrics of SURFBORT's song, "Dope," the singer reveals that they no longer participate in drug use. Rather than getting high, they now spend their time staring at a wall. The singer also makes reference to their pockets being "full of posies" and their knees bleeding. This suggests that they may have turned to self-harm or another coping mechanism in place of drug use. The second verse speaks of melting away in the sun and feeling a deep connection with someone while "lickin up soapy skies." The imagery of honey running in their eye conveys a sense of bliss and surrender to their emotions. The final line, "What would I be if I couldn't be me," hints at the singer's journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance.

You used to want me
You don't want me
You have moved on
So good to know you one day

Pushing up roses indeed
Death is inevitable
I coulda told ya you'd leave

Deep in thick you feel it too

All Surfbort songs are good. I don't know how they manage to choose one for a video. In fact no video is as good as actual song. But I don't blame anyone for it. No video could be enough good for Surfbort. Their songs are best with closen eyes
