It Don't Ryme
SWANN Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The sky is darkness, no turning back
And every night, I dream of ghosts,
They come and go, they haunt my life
I’d like to say I’ll be alright
But when I do I know I’m lying
But when I write it doesn’t ryme, oh no
The wind is blowing, is blowing cold,
And I’m walking on my own
Oh angels, hear my plight,
And please give me some light
I’d like to say I’ll be alright
But when I do I know I’m lying
I’d like to say I’ll be alright
But when I write it doesn’t ryme
In "It Don't Ryme", SWANN sings about the struggles of life and experiencing the world in ways that don't quite make sense. The sky being blue and black at the same time is a metaphor for how life can be both beautiful and dark simultaneously. The line "The sky is darkness, no turning back" represents the inevitability of life's challenges and the idea that once you've seen the darkness, you can't unsee it.
The ghosts that haunt SWANN in her dreams may represent past trauma or unresolved issues that continue to affect her in her waking life. She acknowledges that she tries to convince herself that she'll be okay, but deep down she knows she's lying because the words don't rhyme. The lack of cohesion in her words is symbolic of the inner turmoil she's experiencing.
SWANN asks the angels to help her find some light in the midst of her struggles. The wind blowing cold and her walking alone emphasize the feeling of isolation and loneliness she may be experiencing. However, the plea for help suggests that SWANN is ready to confront her issues and find a way to heal.
Overall, "It Don't Ryme" is an emotionally charged song that encourages listeners to face their fears and confront their inner demons in order to find peace and meaning in life.

Cool.

Ouais. En ACOUSTIQUE donc.

it doesn't, I guess... but what is a ryme? Is it a rhyme?

Que devient Swann ?
The Spaceman 2020
six amps .... and the MTV unplugged and all those other acoustic sessions ... didn't use mics, amps etc ? everything battery-powered, then? ryme - reference to Syd Barrett writings when he 'intentionally writes ryme for rhyme.?' hope this helps ....
