Time Travel Undone
SZA Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm tired of time travel, I
Rather stay here with my
Thoughts, wish they'd stay
Nah, nah, nah, nah-nah, no
Misunderstood, I'm
Miseducated, um
You should just save me
Nah, nah, nah, nah-nah, no

I just wanna live how it should be
Over, what it is
Over, can I get a heartbreak?
Over
Unstick my thoughts, unstick my heart
Unstick these words
Go from the start

Take me to reality
And drag me to the truth
Take me to reality, oh
Drag me to the truth

Come clean, soul
Yearning for things, are numb
Do me good then just so
Nah, nah, nah, nah-nah, no
Look with the light, I see
Top of my sight, I'm scared
Can't sleep at night
Nah, nah, nah, nah-nah, no

I just wanna live how it should be
Over, what it is
Over, can I get a heartbreak?
Over
Unstick my thoughts, unstick my heart
Unstick these words
Go from the start

Take me to reality (take me to)
And drag me to the truth (drag me to the truth)

Take me to reality, oh
And drag me to the truth (drag me to the truth)

Overall Meaning

In SZA's song "Time Travel Undone," the lyrics convey a sense of exhaustion and a desire to escape from the complexities and difficulties of life. The artist expresses a longing to remain in the present, detached from the chaos of their thoughts and emotions. They feel misunderstood and miseducated, craving for someone to understand them and save them from this state of confusion.

The repetition of "nah, nah, nah, nah-nah, no" throughout the song adds a certain defiance, as if the artist is rejecting any attempts to manipulate or control them. They want to break free from the constraints of their own mind and experience life as it should be, without any pretense or falsehood. The desire for an honest and genuine connection is emphasized in the line "Drag me to the truth."

The song hints at a feeling of being stuck or trapped, both mentally and emotionally. The lyrics "Unstick my thoughts, unstick my heart" express a yearning for liberation, a release from the burdens that weigh them down. SZA longs for a return to reality, instead of living in a state of detachment or delusion.

Overall, "Time Travel Undone" explores themes of frustration, disillusionment, and the pursuit of clarity and authenticity. It reflects the artist's desire to break free from the confines of their own mind and experience life in a more genuine and truthful way.

the dark sza is unmatched.

@XxQueenChristinaxX

CTRL is great and all, but I really miss this SZA sound.

@xXunt0uchableXx

CHRISTI XX same! I thought I was the only one.

@iBarroz

Yes! The production, the visuals, the figurative language, the rawness. Her singing style in this era is so different from the accent singing we get now. Wish she would come back to her roots because 1. It’s hurting her vocals, and 2. It was fine for Love Galore but it’s tired. Bring back pre-accent, raspier SZA

@ShittyPxl

That’s me too

@BENEATH_THE_SEWERS

Oh yea , her older stuff is just straight up melodic art ! Her newer stuff is too commercial for me !

@richardhiler6702

Me too, l loved CTRL....but, I really LOVE Good Days! She’s back with the SZA-S sound . 🤗

Here about 7 years later and this song still hits differently than any other song. We need this Solána back immediately. This sound is her style.

Funny you say “hits different” cuz it that’s the name of her new song
