CHILDREN OF DESPAIR
Sadie Lyrics

The children who abandaned freedom
I cannot believe it and considered the sun
Children, expecting a riot
I was scary to become alone and considered the sun
Children wanting freedom
The children who abandaned freedom
Children, expecting a riot
I was scary to become alone and considered the sun
A person to believe is not saved
A person to believe feels like a fool
A person to believe watches tears
The person whom sincerity frets about is only oneself
There is not god...
Thus it is good if i wake
The children code of no.13
A person to believe is not saved
A person to believe feels like a fool
A person to believe watches tears
The person whom sincerity frets about is only oneself
There is not god...
Thus it is good if i wake
The lyrics of Sadie's song "Children of Despair" are difficult to interpret, as they touch on themes of freedom, fear, belief, and sincerity. The opening lines of the song refer to children both wanting and abandoning freedom, hinting at a juxtaposition between the desire for liberation and the fear of being alone or facing a riot. The reference to the sun suggests that the singer is contemplating their own existence and searching for meaning or guidance.
The lines "A person to believe is not saved / A person to believe feels like a fool / A person to believe watches tears / The person whom sincerity frets about is only oneself" seem to suggest that belief or faith does not necessarily lead to salvation or happiness. Instead, it can make one feel foolish and vulnerable, and may even cause one to witness or experience tears. The final lines of the song, "There is no god / Thus it is good if I wake," offer a bleak perspective on the possibility of divine intervention or purpose in life.
Overall, "Children of Despair" seems to speak to feelings of disillusionment and isolation, as well as a struggle to find meaning and purpose in the face of uncertainty and fear.
