I Love You

I made up a dance for you
We'd be crime fighters together
And do things that brothers do
When you told me about his mother
And all that she'd been through
What could I do?
You're kinda rough but I love you
We get along and I love you
You know, you know, you know I love you
When I learned I had a sister
I pretended to hate her
I'd seen it on TV
I knew exactly what to do
When I found it out
That she had her very own daughter
What could I do?
You're kinda sad but I love you
You're kinda rough but I love you
We get along and I love you
You know, you know, you know I love you
We've got a bloodline passing through our sight lines
We've got a bloodline man I gotta find mine
I love you, I love you, I tell you that I love you
I need you, I love you, I really really love you
I love you, I love you, I tell you that I love you
I need you, I love you, I really really love you
I love you, I love you, I tell you that I love you
I need you, I love you, I really really love you
I love you, I love you, I tell you that I love you
I need you, I love you, I really really love you
You're kinda sad but I love you
You're kinda rough but I love you
Maybe you're broke but I love you
I know it's stupid but I love you
You got a bad sense of humor
A little rough around the edges
You're kinda soft in the middle
You love those boring instrumentals
I never see you but I love you
We get along and I love you
You are my blood so I love you
You know, you know, you know I love you
You know, you know, you know I love you
You know, you know, you know I love you
You know, you know, you know I love you
You know, you know, you know I love you
The song "I Love You" by Said The Whale is a tender ballad that revolves around sibling relationships. The lyrics talk about the bonds between siblings and the different emotions that they might experience as they grow up together. The first verse is about the thrill that one feels when a long-lost sibling is found. It talks about how the singer made up a dance for their sibling because they were excited to have a new brother. The second verse takes a different approach and talks about how the singer pretended to hate their sister when they first met her. However, they soon realized that they loved her and her daughter.
The song is full of contradictions when it comes to how the siblings feel about each other. The chorus, "You're kinda sad but I love you, you're kinda rough but I love you, we get along and I love you," highlights this dichotomy. It underlines how despite the faults that each sibling might have, there is still an abundance of love between them. The last verse brings up the shared bloodline that runs through the siblings. It talks about the importance of this bond and how it overcomes any negative emotions that might be present.
Overall, "I Love You" is a beautiful song that encapsulates the complex emotions of sibling relationships. The lyrics show how love can overcome any negative feelings that might arise between siblings. It is a reminder of the importance of family and the bonds that tie us together.

This has been one of my favorite songs for almost a decade. I don't relate to it because I'm an only child but it still makes me a little bit emotional.
