Dominó
Saint Saviour Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You are the golden you are the youth
Know, know this is a new low
This is the truth don't you know
Each new glimmer of hope
Steeper, steeper the slope
All this time I've been treading water
A lamb to the slaughter
Domino, domino, domino
Whoa, say you're going solo
You are the answer, you are the new
Go swimming in the shallows
'Cause no one wants to see you
Go below go below, don't you know
Seedling, weedling to grow
Dreamer, thoughts creep and flow
One wall down make way for another
Stealing, stealing the show
One by one we fall for each other
Domino, domino, domino
A dot rap (unverified)
Bricks stones broken bones
High tops and open toes
Told you I'm on overload
Slipping on this frozen slope
Kings Cross in overcoats
Tie the noose and hold the rope
Most of 'em will come and go
Putting two and two together
Guess we'll call it dominoes
In Saint Saviour's song "Domino," the lyrics encourage the listener to show how words go and understand the truth that this is a new low. The singer speaks of treading water and barely staying afloat, as if they are stuck in a cycle. The chorus refers to dominoes falling, as if everything is connected.
The song speaks of growth and creeping thoughts as a seedling grows into a weedling. Similarly, the walls are brought down to make way for others, like dominoes falling one by one. The lyrics are somewhat pessimistic, yet the chorus suggests that the falling dominoes may represent things falling into place.
The overall message of the song may be that change is inevitable and we must ride with it as things fall into place. It encourages the listener to understand the truth and keep moving forward, even when things seem difficult.
