Simple
Saints Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I got stopped but I kept going
And I know what to say
When you don't wanna say anything to anyone
I got stopped but I kept going
And I don't know what to do for fun
So I just keep looking out my window thinking what should I do
But all I see is how you're blocking my view
When you've been where I've been I swear, it's all so sentimental
Looking around, you count your friends and it's always falling
And you know

That I was close to gone
But I kept going

Ingredients ... simple and perfect . I think bands themselves many times take for granted the chemistry that exists while they're in it .

I had this album from which this track originates - Monkey Puzzle - and played it to an inch of its 33.3rd vinyl life, which was 'permanently borrowed' from a party I held at my old place in Auchenflower (several lives ago).

Best of the many versions of this.

Albeit influenced by the sixties garage and the Detroit scene, they were possibly the first punk band.. I mean, from a technical point of view: the playing speed, the type of guitar distortion, the way of singing and its volume. They were doing punk in 1974 as recorded on the Most Primitive Band.. I'm not sure it's so important but anyway..
Other ideas?
