Heroes
Sam & Blaine Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Fire in the eyes
An orchestrated theme song
And CGI
Got me in the mood for
Predictable plot line
Breaking the box office
Like Hulk to the puny god
I still believe in heroes
I still believe in saving the day
Just a bunch of losers with humanity
It's not superpowers making them succeed
So we can all by Tony and Ms. Pepper Potts
This world isn't perfect but it's the one we got
I still believe in heroes
I still believe in saving the day
I still believe in heroes
I still believe that it will be okay
I still believe in heroes
I still believe in saving the day
I still believe in heroes
I still believe that it will be okay
The song 'Heroes' by Sam & Blaine is about superheroes and how they continue to inspire people today. The opening verse mentions the key characteristics of a superhero - a dramatic entrance, a powerful theme song, and thrilling special effects. These elements create an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation before the hero even appears on screen. The lyrics also reference the common narrative structure of superhero movies, where the hero faces a predictable challenge and ultimately triumphs over the villain.
But the chorus of the song shifts the focus away from superpowers and towards the humanity of the heroes. The singers acknowledge that these characters may have extraordinary abilities, but what truly makes them heroic is their compassion and determination to do what is right. They are everyday people who become heroes through their actions. The chorus repeats the phrase "I still believe in heroes" as a reminder that there are still people out there who are willing to go above and beyond to help others, even in a flawed world.
Overall, 'Heroes' is a tribute to the enduring popularity of superhero stories and the qualities that make them so compelling. It celebrates the idea that anyone can be a hero, regardless of their abilities or background.

I understand you have your own views. But they didn't cover it with the intention to be better than David Bowie. They covered it because it fitted the scene so well. I think for song with such great achievements, they did amazing. Yes no one can do better than him, but that doesn't mean that because it wasn't better it can't be good.
