The 78 Professor aims to PLEASE all his thousands of vintage music fans with this charming rendition of that 1932 Crosby classic, PLEASE . And PLEASE he does, leaving us delighted listeners to beg for more lovely songs like PLEASE, PLEASE!

Well, I think we can see (hear) why Bing took this one on.
Thanks Prof.

I was friends with Sam Coslow's widow, Fran , in NYC in the 90s- I was aware of some of Sam's accomplishments ( Song writing and inventing Soundies ) But this is really nice !

That's awesome that you knew Fran Coslow! I've seen a soundies jukebox before! Sam also worked for Paramount Pictures writing songs for their first talkie musicals in 1929-1930, like "Sweeping the Clouds Away" for Paramount on Parade. Sung by Maurice Chevalier, 1930. And in 1932 he was known on the air as the "Voice of Romance" singing crooner songs like this one. (Sam himself re called these things in a 1937 radio show I had). Thankyou for sharing your Coslow connection!

Love the sax and violin obbligatos, and—well, everything here.

This also has the same stretched text as the flip side, huh. I also prefer the Will Osborne version of this tune, though I feel that Bing’s is more sweet sounding. Not a bad version here though!

Trombonology Erstwhile

Sam wasn't bad, but he was no Bing. ... Then again, as a songwriter, Bing, despite being in on a few great ones, was no Sam.

And Bing couldn't sing. If you want to hear a real singer singing this song search for Lanny Ross on youtube using these keywords: radio lanny ross maxwell house

Trombonology Erstwhile

@Registered Nurse If you believe I lack the discernment to realise that Bing "couldn't sing," as you say, how could I possibly recognise a "real singer" when I heard one? ... Each person's taste is different from everyone else's. I find Lanny's r-rolling and tenor voice difficult to take.

@Registered Nurse Lanny Ross and Muriel Wilson ! and you can hear an audible Eddie Lang in the backup band ! Roll them R's Lanny !
