There are way too many tunes out there that are just plain, boring, mindless, and generic sounding with very poorly constructed melodies. I mean you cannot even call them Trance melodies because they are so erratic and have no form that music lovers and Trance lovers can understand and relate to.
The strength of Trance has always been its multiple layers supporting that melodic riff/hook or multiple melodies working together to just blow our minds and to put us in that trancey state of mind.
Trance music always took us on a journey and took us to amazing places in our imaginations.
Dance music should always uplift our souls, make us all feel united on the dance floor and when we're listening alone it should captivate our imaginations so that we can just lose ourselves in the music and forget about all our troubles and the drudgery of life.
Trance isn't one of those styles of Electronic Dance Music that comes and goes. Trance has a place and purpose in our lives. The music serves a purpose. This is why Trance music has been with us for 27 years now. It all began back in 1991 ... and here we are today in 2018.
Thanks to FSOE and artists like Sam Laxton we can still experience and enjoy real Trance music.
