Are moments I take a step back in time
Each step that I take is leading me to
A time when I felt closer to you
Moments I gain, moments I lose
I'm just giving time, trying to find
What we had once has been left behind
We know we can
We can survive
Survive the fall
That comes before the rise
Moments we care a little too much
Moments we care are never enough
Claiming to pride, hitching on high
What we truly feel, we push to the side
Moments we gain are moments we lose
We're just giving time, trying to find
What we had once has been left behind
Here we stand as it slips through our hands
We know we can
We can survive
Survive the fall
That comes before the rise
That comes before the rise
Are we just getting time trying to find?
What we had once has left behind
And here we stand as it slips through our hands
We know we can
We can survive
Survive the fall
That comes before the rise
We know we can
We can survive
Survive the fall
That comes before the rise
Moments we gain are moments, are moments
Moments we gain are moments we lose
The song "Moments" by Sam Smith is a reflection on a lost relationship and the struggle to find meaning and closure in the aftermath. The first verse speaks of how the singer has moments that are temporarily his, where he can revisit memories of a time when he felt closer to his ex-partner. He is trying to find the path that will lead him back to that feeling, but at the same time, he knows that it's a futile pursuit. The chorus reinforces the idea that despite the setbacks and turmoil, they can survive the fall and rise again.
The second verse talks about how the moments they care or claim to care about are never enough. They are holding on to their pride and not expressing their true feelings, which only adds to the struggle. The bridge summarizes the struggle to find closure and move on, but still, they know they can survive the fall that precedes the rise.
Ultimately, "Moments" is a song about growth and moving on from a broken relationship. It's about acknowledging that there were good and bad moments, but they are now in the past, and the future is uncertain. However, the singer has faith in the resiliency of the human spirit and the ability to rise again, no matter how difficult or painful the process may be.

This is really good but i have to admit, he's improved massively over time. Such a great voice!

A boy of 16! What an achievement. So fascinating to hear this and see how Sam's developed, but he was talented then. Song a little bland, but he was just starting out. The emotion and passion deriving from later unhappy life experiences are missing naturally. Stay around for decades, please Sam, keep producing great music.

@SuperBassGleekFreak
To everyone wondering why he sounds so different, i'm pretty sure he recorded this when he was about 16 years old :) Obviously his voice has developed so much since then, and this was still when he was trying to find his sound :)
@sejdanurcapa7516

@D8aChannel
Instant good-mood tune :)

Basically, this is Sam but he did this with another record company, when he was younger. And also, he has to try different genres of music, so why is everyone complaining about the genre and the type of song? I think this is amazing for a singer who sings soul and pop music.
