I wake up, I wake up
What does it mean to dream
Is it staying alive or to fall or rise
So take it to the limit and lets dream on, dream on
I wake up, to find you
I reach out, yeah
You're there like a vision of ecstasy
But when I wake up
I realise, I'm holding on to a dream
(don't you know it's just a)
You're just a dream to me
(you're just a dream to me)
A part inside of me
(a part inside of me)
You're just a part of a dream in me
You're a dream in me
I feel cold
As your, as your shadow moves away
I feel heat
Heat now
I need you
I really need you here to stay
You're just a dream to me
(you're just a dream to me)
A part inside of me
(a part inside of me)
You're just a dream
You're just a part of a dream in me
You're a dream in me
You're a dream in me
You're a dream in me
You're a dream in me
You're a dream in me
It's so nice to dream
But then again
Your dreams are not always reality
It seems we're always searching
Searching for that real dream
Dream, dream...
The lyrics of Samantha Fox's song "Just a Dream" describe the feeling of waking up and feeling disconnected from a dream that felt real. The singer questions the meaning of dreams and whether they represent the desire to stay alive or to fall or rise. The phrase "take it to the limit and let's dream on" suggests that the dream can be seen as an opportunity to explore new possibilities and push through boundaries.
The second verse of the song talks about how the singer wakes up to find her lover next to her, but then realizes that it was just a dream. She experiences a sense of disappointment and a longing for the dream to come true. The repetition of the lines "you're just a dream to me, a part inside of me" suggests that the dream has become a part of who she is and will continue to stay with her.
Overall, the song is about the uncertainty and ambiguity surrounding the concept of dreams. Dreams can be a source of hope and inspiration, but they can also be disorienting and leave us feeling disconnected from reality. The song suggests that we should continue to explore our dreams and use them as a way to imagine new possibilities.
