Crazy Boy
Samuele Bersani Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Crazy Boy oggi fa la mummia
Gira attorno alla sua colonna
Nel palazzo del museo
Sono figlio di un egiziano
Muratore e un po' faraone
Che si chiama Scarabeo
Le pozzanghere e le nuvole
Vanno via col sole
Aspetta immobile
Gli sbadigli e il sonno del custode
Finalmente è fatta e lui s'infila nel portone e sale
Crazy Boy come prima cosa
Crazy Boy nello spazio greco
Crede di essere in un presepio
Di giganti, muse e Dei (di giganti, muse e Dei)
Tutte in fila messe dietro a un vetro
Ci son maschere di ogni tipo
Neri, bianchi e tu chi sei? (neri, bianchi e tu chi sei?)

Overall Meaning

The song "Crazy Boy" by Samuele Bersani is a poetic tale of a young man who wanders aimlessly through a museum, imagining that he is exploring ancient Egypt and Greece. He is the son of an Egyptian laborer and a partially royal mother named Scarabeo. The young man, who is known only as Crazy Boy, seems to be lost within the museum, walking in circles around a column.

As he navigates the museum, he encounters a number of different statues and artifacts that come to life before his eyes. He speaks to the statues, and they respond to him in turn. Despite the surreal nature of his explorations, Crazy Boy is determined to find his way through the museum, searching for something that he cannot quite name.

Throughout the song, there is a sense of disillusionment and emptiness that permeates the lyrics. Crazy Boy seems to be searching for meaning or purpose within the museum's walls, but he is unable to find any. He is trapped by a sense of confinement, wandering endlessly through the hallways without ever discovering anything real or meaningful.
