She was born in the Villa Crespo neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, the daughter of Iván Mihanovich a polo player and Mónica Cahen D'Anvers, a famous journalist and TV anchorperson. She inherited from her paternal grandfather her passion for jazz music. After completing high school, she studied music at the Universidad Católica Argentina and, since March 1976, also theater at the Conservatorio de Arte Dramático.
Her singing début was at "La Ciudad" pub on May 20, 1976. While working the pub circuit, she met fellow musician and composers Alejandro Lerner, Marilina Ross, Celeste Carballo, Horacio Fontova and Ruben Rada, whose songs she went on to include in her repertoire. She met her first producer, Ricardo Kleinman, after a show at the Universidad de Belgrano. On October 1982, she became the first female soloist holding a show at Obras, widely known as the Argentine "Rock Cathedral". In 1986 she won the "Antorcha de Plata" at the Viña del Mar Song Festival in Chile.
The Legislative Chamber of Buenos Aires named her "Distinguished Personality of the Culture of the City" to honor her thirty years long career. As an actress, she starred in the "Vulnerables" TV series (1999) about a self healing therapy group and other movies and TV programs.

soy una admiradora más de esta cantante maravillosa, la canción es hermosa, la interpretación hizo que comprendiera el sentido de la obra, pero me gustaría que el autor me diera mas información. Cuál fue la primera versión? Difiere mucho la música de esta? cual fue la versión de la comedia "Calígula" de Pepito? De más está decir que esta es bella!!!!!

Hola, veo que en 7 años no te respondieron, y yo vi la versión original en la "Fundación San Telmo", de la que nunca encontré un registro audiovisual. Debe ser por eso que acá está ilustrada con imágenes de una versión teatral posterior. Pero esta canción era así tal cual en la versión original, y la cantaba el protagonista que personificaba a Calígula. No recuerdo bien pero le habían anunciado que había tenido un hijo, y si no recuerdo mal había nacido muerto, lo cual explica el sentido de la letra: teniendo todo el poder del imperio romano no podía evitar esa situación. Sandra Mihanovich, que yo recuerde, no actuaba en esa obra, pero ya había actuado con Cibrián en un musical anterior: "Aquí no podemos hacerlo", cuando Pepito trabajaba con Luis María Serra a cargo de la música. Luego hicieron "Aquí podemos hacerlo". Buenas o malas considero que eran de los primeros musicales argentinos.
El autor de esta música figura mas abajo haciendo un comentario, y la letra se ve que es de Pepito Cibrián, por lo que dice debajo del título. El musical es de 1985 como consta más abajo, pero esta grabación la hizo Sandra en estudio, para un disco muchos años después, como también se explica en los comentarios. Que al inicio del video figure Ángel Mahler a cargo de la música tiene que ser porque las imágenes son de la segunda versión teatral. Lo siguiente a esta segunda versión fue "Drácula" en el Luna Park, que se acondicionó especialmente para mejorar la acústica, y fue la mayor consagración de la dupla Cibrián/Mahler. La verdad es que no fui, pero recordaba sus comienzos con esta su segunda o tercera obra "Calígula", en una sala medio "under" del barrio San Telmo. =)
