I want a bad boy
I want a bad boy
I want a bad boy
I want a bad boy

Papa going fe lick me if me not leave the bad man
My mum she's crying "lord have mercy, you better run come"
She asks "but wait, i don't know how you grow up so facety
But you don't see little boy them growing up much too lazy
Them want to whine and grind and then him leave you my daughter
Then buck up on another and take what him after
He tease you with him toy ad then whip your backside
He'll put you on the train and then catch the ride"

Papa him say the English man, him too arty-farty
My mum she say the German man, him too lardy-dardy
Boys from Kingston town, them got some temper too fiery
Them smoking too much ganja and feeling too irie
You must be careful if by chance you buck upon the itie
Run go tell your friend and don't look in the brown eye
The African man him fool you with him heritage and self pride
Just jump around and tell him "goon and catch the ride"

No no, I want a bad boy
No no, let's play with your toy

No no, I want a bad boy
The kind of guy for me

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Sandy's song Bad Boy seem to depict a young girl who is attracted to the wrong kinds of men. She is looking for a bad boy, someone who is likely to cause trouble, instead of searching for a more stable and dependable partner. However, her parents are worried about her inexperience and warn her about the different types of men out there that she should avoid. Her father warns her about men who are from different places, while her mother warns her about men who will only use her for their own pleasure. Despite their warnings, she still wants a "bad boy" who could potentially cause her harm and distress.

Through the lyrics, we see the conflict between the parents who want to protect their child and the young girl who is seeking adventure and excitement in her romantic interests. It seems as though she is rebelling against her parents' wishes and trying to assert her independence. However, the lyrics also suggest that she may not fully understand the potential consequences of her actions, which could lead to her getting hurt by the "bad boy" she's trying to attract.

In conclusion, Bad Boy is a cautionary tale about the dangers of seeking out men who may not be good for us. It highlights the importance of listening to the advice of our elders, who may have more wisdom and experience when it comes to relationships. At the same time, it acknowledges the allure of danger and excitement that often accompanies bad boys, making it a relatable story for many young people.

Back in the day, I remember listening to these and thinking "She totally sounds like the singer of Corona!". It took some time for me to realize that Sandy was the actual singer in the Corona songs.

@fanclubsandychambers

yeah she sang in a lot of eurodance projects, without receiving credit, it's a big shame that Sandy didn't get the fame she really deserved :(
