Kenshin in my opinion is the perfect hero. He represents everything that is good. Yes his past is dark, but instead of living in the past, he lives a different life. He's wise, kind, compassionate, forgiving, and he can take down his enemies without killing them. Kenshin is a great hero. He's my hero.

this opening blocked me for SO many years, I sat there listening once and thought "the hell has this got to do with a samurai show?!" and then believed that the localisation had screwed things up with the dub so I stayed away.

I think Gallop got really lucky with the first minute and a half of Sobakasu because it fits so well with Kenshin. While the song is about a breakup with a girl narrator, the feelings of loss and moving on, at least before Judy starts talking about her stuffed animals later in the song, are really cool. Plus, whoever translated the lyrics to English deserved a raise, for once I understand Japanese lyrics and the context in English, plus the translation is just very poetic. Singer in English is a little too nasal but tbh so were Judy and Mary.

dwarz1991 Trust & Betrayal is 100% canon. It's an adaptation of the flashback Kenshin tells everyone after Kaoru is kidnapped in the manga. It's the SECOND OVA, Reflection, that is horrendously non-canon.

I like this song because I love how it starts out with that badass guitar riff and then hits you right out of left field with this voice that sounds like a child. I love the anime and I love this song.

Anime. of. all. time. greatest ost of all anime as well.. i love this show. i even named my cats himura, aoshi, sanosuke, amd prince yahiko.. that's how much i love rurouni kenshin.. and Netflix sucks all the time, but I'm grateful to them, for introducing me to the rurouni kenshin series.. and the three live action movies are the greatest anime adapted movies too.
