The lyrics of Sankomota's song "Now or Never" encourage African people to awaken from their slumber and strive to make their dreams come true. The song begins with the line, "Heyi wena Afrika," which means "Hey you, Africa." The lyrics urge Africa to stand up and take action, to stop being passive and complacent. The phrase, "Kgale o dutse hae" means "Get up and take a stand," and "Tsamaya o lo ipatlela sa bophelo" translates to "Go out and search for a better life."
The chorus of the song, "Vuka baba, vuka," implores people to wake up and not let life pass them by. The line, "Follow your star it's now or never" means that one's future is in their own hands, and they should seize the opportunity to make their dreams happen. The lyrics repeat the phrase, "hayi you've got to make it better," emphasizing the importance of taking action and making a change for the better.
The song's verses repeat the same message, highlighting the need for action and not just talk. The line, "O shebile banna ha ba sebetsa wena" means "People talk but don't work, you need to act." The lyrics also touch on the issue of waiting for opportunities to come to you, warning "You gonna wait forever" and encouraging people to create their own opportunities.
Overall, the lyrics of "Now or Never" are a call to action, urging the African continent to awaken and not let their dreams and opportunities pass them by. The song inspires listeners to take control of their lives and make a better future for themselves and their communities.
