1. Sansa offers a fresh breeze of new acoustic folk-pop on Texicalli Records with her self- titled release, out now. She is an up-and-coming artist hailing from Helsinki, Finland. Drawing from a wide variety of influences, her sound is characterised by its direct approach and a natural way of showcasing the talented singer-songwriter’s persona.
Although drawn into the world of sounds and music already as a teen, it was not before Sansa turned 20 that she started to concentrate in her music more seriously. She started studying music and consuming it obsessively, with an equal love of simple blues, all kinds of jazz, soulful folk/pop/soul, Finnish good old folkie, Debussy and even operettos.
Like the tracks on her new album go to show, what Sansa has transformed this all into is a delightful bag of surprises, staying true to her own voice all through the album’s down- home groove of ten original compositions. From the opener and Sansa’s self-proclaimed favourite track ‘Sorry My Love’ via the rootsy groove of ‘Nectar’ to the dreamy pop of closing track ‘Is It You’, the album meanders along with a momentum not often belonging to a record of an artist just getting started on their solo career. That being said, Sansa has already made a strong impression on the live scene by opening for acts such as Robert Plant, Genesis, Katie Melua and Bryan Adams.
In addition to being active as a guitarist and singer, songwriter, and also as an arranger on the album, Sansa has gathered a potent group of innovative colleagues around her. Producer Janne Oinas’ name is a regular find on the credits of recent Finnish pop masterpieces, guitarist Miika Colliander is familiar to many due to his work with Husky Rescue, and drummer Tatu Rönkkö holds the seat of many an accomplished contemporary jazz ensemble.
According to musical sources of inspiration, Sansa reports “life in general” as being high on her “favourite artists” list: people, countries, movies, nature and sudden encounters are just examples of themes that shine through on Sansa’s new album. While somewhat self- explanatory, these references perhaps indicate why the talented artist can boast such a mature take on her art. By keeping things simple and inserting enough of her own soul into the music, Sansa succeeds in one of the most difficult things in the business: sounding like herself.
2. sansa (산사) is a South Korean singer-songwriter. She made her solo debut on June 14, 2022, with her first digital single "Floundering".

Sansa Lyrics

Left me barefoot in the rain
I can't get away
No umbrella will keep me dry
will keep me dry
will keep me dry
Fill the oceans and the cloudsGreen the deserts, feed the thirst
With my teardrops
I give my heart in your hands
Just make me understand
I give my heart in your hands
We're fading away
Slowly falling beyond repair
Nothing left to say
No umbrella will keep me dry
will keep me dry
will keep me dry
In the opening lines of Sansa's song "Heart in Your Hands," the imagery of walking away sets a poignant tone, indicating a departure that is both physical and emotional. The repeated phrase "Left me barefoot in the rain" evokes vulnerability and a sense of abandonment. Being barefoot symbolizes a lack of protection and grounding, suggesting that the singer feels exposed and helpless in the face of loss. The rain serves as a metaphor for tears and heartache; it’s relentless and inescapable, mirroring the sorrow that permeates the singer's experience. The invocation of "No umbrella will keep me dry" reinforces this sense of being overwhelmed, as umbrellas are protective tools, and their absence highlights the singer's feeling of being left without any means of safeguarding themselves from the emotional storm they are enduring. This opening effectively establishes a mood of despair and longing, setting the stage for the emotional struggle that unfolds.
As the song progresses, the lyrics express a desire for connection and understanding through evocative imagery that paints a picture of longing and devotion. The lines "Fill the oceans and the clouds / Green the deserts, feed the thirst / With my teardrops" suggest that the singer’s sorrow has the power to influence and alter the world around them. This metaphor implies that their love, expressed through sadness, can give life to barren places, suggesting a deep connection between emotion and the natural world. The act of giving one's heart is a profound expression of trust and vulnerability. By saying, "I give my heart in your hands," the singer is not only offering love but also placing their emotional well-being and future in the care of another. This plea for understanding, encapsulated in the line "Just make me understand," underscores a deep yearning for clarity and communication, reflecting the complexities and nuances of romantic relationships rooted in emotional turbulence.
The theme of decay and deterioration emerges in the repetition of "We're fading away / Slowly falling beyond repair." This imagery suggests that the relationship is deteriorating beyond the point of rekindling, evoking a sense of inevitability and loss. The phrase "Nothing left to say" indicates a profound silence that can settle in the aftermath of emotional turmoil when words fail to capture the complexity of one's feelings or when discussions have already exhausted all possibilities for resolution. The continuation of the refrain about the umbrella highlights the ongoing struggle to find shelter from emotional distress. The repetition creates a sense of hopelessness, emphasizing that despite efforts to protect oneself, the emotional rain continues unabated. This cyclical structure fortifies the idea of being trapped in a seemingly unending cycle of heartache, revealing a sense of resignation to the fading love.
Ultimately, Sansa's song conveys a journey filled with both beauty and pain. The lyrics evoke rich imagery and metaphorical language that resonate with anyone who has experienced deep emotional connections and subsequent loss. The heartfelt plea for understanding amidst the backdrop of sorrow strikes a universal chord, highlighting the delicate balance between love and vulnerability. The metaphorical rain—representing both tears and the emotional challenges faced—transcends the immediate context of a relationship under strain, touching on themes of existential longing and the quest for meaning in the face of heartbreak. Through this poignant exploration of emotional turmoil, listeners are invited to reflect on their experiences of love, loss, and the fragile nature of human connection.
