Fried neckbones
And some home fries

Repeat

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Santana's "Fried Neckbones" are seemingly simple and repetitive but convey a sense of comfort and homeliness. "Fried Neckbones" and "home fries," which are types of Southern cuisine, are mentioned in the chorus. The simplicity of the lyrics reflects the importance of traditional home-cooked meals, which provide comfort and nostalgia for the singer.

The repeated lyrics also convey a sense of rhythm, mirroring the driving beat of the song. The song makes use of Latin percussion, and the repetition of the chorus creates a hypnotic, trance-like state. The song evokes images of people at a family gathering or a neighborhood block party, sharing food and enjoying each other's company. The song is reminiscent of Carlos Santana's youth in Tijuana, Mexico, where he was exposed to various types of rhythms and music.

I saw Santana 7 times during their heyday in the 70s. The most dynamic & eclectic hippie band of their time. They made me cry with joy every time I saw them.

I can remember the first time I heard this. Just bought a Santana bootleg. Got way high. Headphones on. Lay down on the couch. Most of it was songs I knew but was hoping for a sick version, then this came on. I want to say it was from 68'. Captures the spirit of the era perfectly. That Hammond keyboard usually does.

Terrific cover of a brilliant Willie Bobo song
