Saideira
Santana Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Tem um lugar diferente
Lá depois da saideira
Quem é de beijo, beija
Quem é de luta, capoeira

Tem um lugar diferente
Lá depois da saideira
Tem homem que vira macaco
E mulher que vira freira

Oh! Comandante, capitão
Tio, brother é camarada
Chefia, amigão
Desce mais uma rodada
Comandante, capitão
Tio, brother é camarada
Chefia, amigão
Desce mais uma rodada
Desce mais é
Desce mais

Tem um lugar diferente
Lá depois da saideira
Tem bandeira que recolhe
Tem bandeira que asteia

Tem um lugar diferente
Lá depois da saideira
É tomando uma gelada
Que se cura a bebedeira

Oh! Comandante, capitão
Tio, brother é camarada
Chefia, amigão
Desce mais uma rodada
Comandante, capitão
Tio, brother é camarada
Chefia, amigão
Desce mais uma rodada

Tem um lugar diferente
Lá depois da saideira
Quem é de beijo, beija
Quem é de luta, capoeira

Tem um lugar diferente
Lá depois da saideira
Tem homem que vira macaco
Tem mulher que vira freira

Oh! Comandante, capitão
Tio, brother é camarada
Chefia, amigão
Desce mais uma rodada
Comandante, capitão
Tio, brother é camarada
Chefia, amigão
Desce mais uma rodada

Oh! Comandante, capitão
Tio, brother é camarada
Chefia, amigão
Desce mais uma rodada
Comandante, capitão
Tio, brother é camarada
Chefia, amigão
Desce mais uma rodada

Desce mais é
Desce mais eh eh eh

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Saideira" by Santana are a celebration of a place called "Saideira," where people go to have a good time and let loose. The word "saideira" means "last drink" in Portuguese, which is often associated with a fun night out where people want to keep drinking even when they know they should stop. The chorus of the song repeats "dame más," which translates to "give me more," emphasizing the idea of indulgence and enjoyment.

The lyrics describe a place where people can be themselves without any judgment. It's a place where emotions run high, and people behave differently than they normally would. The verses mention how some people are looking for love and others are ready to fight, portraying the diversity of personalities that one might encounter in such a place.

The song also acknowledges the role of the bartender, who is addressed as "captain," "brother," and "master" in the lyrics. The bartender is the one who keeps the drinks flowing, and he's also the one who brings people together.

Overall, "Saideira" is a lively and upbeat song that celebrates the joy of being in the moment and having fun.

I always love listening to Santana's music. And this song is very good. I can't stop moving my body to dance. I love the Spanish lyrics! It's a beautiful language. And as Indonesian i am very proud that i've just realized Santana wore 'Batik' shirt. Batik is a traditional clothes pattern from Jawa (a southern island in Indonesia). Latin America's culture is very beautiful! Saludos desde Indonesia con amor!
