Sara Em is 30 years old and has been making her own music for more than 10 years. She was brought up in a christian home, and the family sang a lot together in church (pentecostal).
In her twenties Sara Em came out as gay, and struggled for several years with her identity and perception of God and what he was thinking of her being a lesbian. These years were very painful, and Sara Em wrote a lot of lyrics and music during this time where she expressed her feeling of exclusion from the church and longing for God.
If you talk with Sara Em today, she will tell you that she has landed in the feeling and conviction that God loves her - not in spite of her being a lesbian, but because she is herself. Exactly as God made her.

Falling Snow
Sara Em Lyrics

(And) what I lost I'll never replace
The bliss that you gave
I am losing everything
Well, you came too close
I know it's the end
When you look at me and say
That the war is lost
Soon the snow's gonna fall
And I will not find you
(And) all the love that we had
Wont be there to guide me
And I will be lost
I know now it is too late
And I can't return to live in that way
The sorrow it brings
When you look at me and say
That the war is lost
Soon the snow's gonna fall...
I'm reaching out for the light
And I can't be held down now
I've cried enough
And I am sorry to let you down
But I believe I was meant to fly
Soon the snow's gonna fall
And I will not find you
(And) all the love that we had
Wont be there to guide me
Soon the snow's gonna fall
And I will not find you
(And) all the love that we had
Will be lost
Soon the snow's gonna fall
The song Falling Snow by Sara Em is a lament over a lost love. The lyrics present a sense of resignation by the singer, who admits that they cannot change their ways and that they have lost everything they valued. The repeated line "soon the snow's gonna fall" symbolizes the coming of winter, which is often associated with grief and loss.
The first stanza sets the tone of the song, expressing regret over not changing and not being able to replace what was lost. The bliss the singer received from their lover is now gone, and they feel like they're losing everything. They realize that the end is near when their lover looks at them and says that the war is lost, perhaps indicating that the relationship has reached the point of no return.
The second stanza reinforces the sense of regret and adds a note of finality to the song. The singer knows that it's too late to go back to the way things were, and the sorrow of that realization is almost unbearable. The snow that's about to fall is a metaphor for the end of the relationship, which has left the singer feeling lost and alone.
In the final stanza, the singer expresses a desire to break free from the sadness and to fly away. They're sorry to have disappointed their lover, but they feel like they were meant for something more. The snow is coming, and with it, the end of the relationship and all the love that they had shared.
