Born to Fly
Sara Evansé¯ÀÒáîäë¹ Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've been tellin' my dreams to the scarecrow
About the places that I'd like to see
I say 'friend, do you think I'll ever get there?'
Aww, but he just stands there smilin' back at me

So I confess my sins to the preacher
About the love I'd been prayin' to find
Is there a brown-eyed boy in my future, yeah
He says 'girl, you got nothin' but time.'

(But) (Oh) (So) how do you wait for heaven
And who has that much time
And how do you keep your feet on the ground
When you know
That you were born, (you were born, yeah), you were born to fly

My daddy he is grounded like the oak tree
My momma she is as steady as the sun
Oh, you know I love my folks, but I keep starin' down the road,
Just lookin' for my one chance to run

Hey, 'cause I will soar away like the blackbird
I will blow in the wind like a seed
I will plant my heart in the garden of my dreams
And I will grow up where I want, wild and free

(But) (Oh) (So) how do you wait for heaven
And who has that much time
And how do you keep your feet on the ground

When you know
That you were born, (you were born, yeah), you were born to fly

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Sara Evansé¯ÀÒáîäë¹'s song "Born to Fly" paint a picture of a person with big dreams, but who is unsure of how to reach them. The character confides in the scarecrow and the preacher, both figments of her imagination, about her aspirations. The scarecrow represents someone who is not grounded in reality but rather exists in her imagination. The preacher appears to offer guidance, but ultimately tells her that time is on her side, urging her to be patient.

The second verse highlights the conflict of the character's upbringing and desires. While she loves her family, the character feels the call of the open road and the urge to explore the world. She sees herself as a bird that is free to fly, planting herself where she wants and thriving in the garden of her dreams.

Overall, the lyrics suggest that the pursuit of one's dreams often involves persistence, faith, and the willingness to take risks.

I was born with cerebral palsy and I'm in a wheelchair ♿ and daddy told me to never let my disability stop me. This song makes me rock my wheelchair or bed every time it comes on.

I'm not sure if you've heard of her, but my cousin's daughter might be someone you can relate to. She's inspired a lot of people. I've never seen anyone who works as hard as her, or who has more positivity than her. https://des.az.gov/es/node/25474

I was also born with Cerebral Palsy and I walk with a limp. My right 🦵 turns in when I walk. I don't let my disability get to me either. I have been in a wheelchair ♿️ , I've walked with a walker, I've had braces on my 🦵 and 4 casts on my right 🦵. I'm just glad I can walk. The sky is the Limit, don't let people tell you that you can't do anything because you can!!

She is so pretty. She can sing. I don't know why she isn't more popular. This song was my childhood!

@mikejohnson5491

She didn't start real young and didn't want to be rich but wanted to be happy. Who can blame her make enough to live with and time off

@MP-zb5bc

You are right. Maybe because she is not a liberal.

@scottiejon

She was very popular 20 years ago. No one stays on top forever
