Saragossa Band Lyrics

He found the water fresh and clean
Moses gave to his folks the strength
To escape from slavery
Rasta rasta man
Rasta man take my hand
Rasta rasta man
Think about what Iziah did
Think about old Elias kids
They used all of their energy
Prayin' for the eternity
Rasta rasta man
Rasta man take my hand
Rasta rasta man
Rasta man if you can

Take my hand if you can
Seven years it was plenty fine
Seven years a famine cry
Yeremiah was prayin' for rain
Come and wipe away all our pain
Rasta rasta man
Rasta man take my hand
Rasta rasta man
Rasta man if you can
Rasta rasta rasta rasta man
Rasta rasta rasta rasta man
Take my hand if you can
Rasta rasta rasta rasta man

The lyrics to Saragossa Band's song "Rasta Man" are a tribute to the figures of Jewish and Rastafarian history who fought for freedom and equality. The opening lines refer to Aaron, the brother of Moses, who in the book of Exodus discovers water in the Sinai desert. This symbolizes the power of faith and hope in times of hardship, as the Israelites were fleeing from slavery in Egypt. Moses, who is also mentioned in the lyrics, is revered as a leader who gave his people strength to overcome oppression. The song then transitions to a reference to the Biblical figures of Isaiah and Elijah, who were known for their devotion to God and their tireless activism for social justice. The chorus repeats the words "Rasta man take my hand," suggesting that the listener should follow in the footsteps of these inspiring figures.
The final verse alludes to the Old Testament story of Joseph, who predicted and helped to prepare for a famine. The prayer of Yeremiah for rain represents the hope and faith that sustains people in hard times. The lyrics of "Rasta Man" are a message of hope and faith in the face of adversity, drawing on the power of religious stories and figures.

OMG, I finally found it after so many years! I was a little child in the early 1980s back in Nigeria, and it was a given that this song was always played at every children's birthday party I attended, including mine. It made us children dance and enjoy ourselves with its catchy rhythm and tune, and I don't think we ever got tired of it for as long as it was played back then. And I don't think I'll get tired of listening to it in the near future now that I finally heard it again. Ah, the memories! I should have known that the song title was 'Rasta man' and not 'Rosturan' as someone told me. Thanks for uploading.
