The song, "Historien om kolibrien" (The Story of the Hummingbird) by Sarah Camille, tells a powerful story about a forest that suffered from a severe drought, causing all the animals to become still and dream of the lush, green days of the past. Suddenly, a lightning bolt struck and started a fire that forced all the animals to flee from their homes. As they ran away, they watched their homes burning to the ground. However, through the smoke, they could see a tiny red dot moving back and forth between the fire and a nearby lake. Upon closer inspection, they discovered that it was a small hummingbird, using its tiny beak to shuttle droplets of water to quell the flames. When asked what it thought it could do against the raging fire with such small amounts of water, the hummingbird simply replied that it was doing what it could. The story concludes with the hummingbird explaining that it was just one tiny part of something bigger, just like all the animals were small parts of a greater mosaic.
The lyrics of this song are inspiring and have multiple layers of meaning. The drought that the forest experiences is a metaphor for hard times in our lives when everything seems bleak and hopeless. The fire represents the challenges and obstacles that we sometimes face, which seem insurmountable. The hummingbird, with its small size and limited abilities, represents our inner strength and resilience in the face of struggles. Its willingness to do what it can, despite its limitations, is a message of hope and determination for all of us.
Overall, "Historien om kolibrien" is a song that encourages us to persevere through the hard times, even when our efforts seem small and insignificant. The message is clear - we all have a part to play in something bigger than ourselves and every little effort counts.

The forest had never been so dry before, all the leaves and twigs were withered under the strong sun.
Risling og knasing for hvert eneste lille steg. Ikke et spor av fuktighet.
Crackling and crunching with every little step, not a trace of humidity.
All the animals that used to frolic around the big forest, sat completely still in the shade. They closed their eyes and dreamed of green, colorful, lush days. But when they opened them again, it was just as hot and dry.
Early one day, a lightning bolt appeared in the sky. Where the lightning struck, a small flame arose. The flame spread and became a big fire.
All the animals started sprinting away from the fire. When they had gone a distance, they stopped to look back. They saw their homes disappearing in thick, gray, black smoke.
But far away, almost right above the gray smoke, they could see a tiny red dot. The dot moved back and forth, from water to fire, and back to water.
Kolibrien hentet vanndråper, slapp dem ned over brannen, og fløy tilbake for å hente mer!
When they looked closer, they could see that it was a little hummingbird, with a red beak and purple wings. The hummingbird collected droplets of water, dropped them over the fire, and flew back to get more!
Hey, little hummingbird! What do you think you can do with your tiny drops against the big fire?
Without being disturbed, the hummingbird answered: I do what I can.
The bird said, I do what I can, and that story is true. Just as true as I can be a drop of water. I can be the one song, the one step, the one voice.
The bird said, I do what I can, and that story is true. Just as true as you and you and you and I, are a small part of something big. An element in a huge mosaic, a note in a piece of music.
