Pass Me By
Sarah Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Until you wake up to life because life will pass you by at any given moment
I blinked one time I blinked two times I blinked three times
That's when I began to sink I bet you would say she is sinking in her bed
Yes I was sinking deep in sin seeking to rise back up
When I heard my master whisper do or die
That's when I started trying my life want pass me by I shall get up
I shall not blink three times I will not be blinded
The lyrics of Sarah's song "Pass Me By" convey a sense of reflection and realization about the passing of time and the importance of living life to its fullest. The opening line, "As I sit and watch the time pass me by," suggests that the singer is experiencing a moment of introspection, observing how quickly time seems to elude them. The phrase "the time said bye bye" further emphasizes the transient nature of time, as if it has a life of its own.
The lyrics also convey a sense of urgency and awakening. The line "Until you wake up to life because life will pass you by at any given moment" suggests that the singer has come to realize the fleeting nature of life and the need to actively participate in it. The repetition of "I blinked one time, I blinked two times, I blinked three times" suggests a realization of missed opportunities or moments of inaction. The singer acknowledges sinking into a state of sin and despair but is inspired to rise back up by a divine intervention, as mentioned in the line "When I heard my master whisper do or die." This signals a turning point in the singer's mindset, as they resolve to not let life pass them by and to make conscious efforts to embrace and seize every moment.
Overall, "Pass Me By" is a reflection on the passing of time and the importance of being present in one's life. It highlights the need to wake up, not let opportunities slip away, and take control of one's destiny.
