If Only
Sarah Geronimo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
That I could learn to breath and live again
But now it seems you had a change of heart
And everything we have, you're willing to throw away
Did you ever feel that I can never love you for real
Why did you have to go
Baby I need you so
If only I can be back in your arms again
Then I can make you feel the love we knew back then
Maybe you and I would see forever
If only I can be back in your arms again
Oh how can I ever make you know
That you're simply everything to me
And how can I make you believe
That I would truly live and die for you
I can't understand how you can ever break my heart
Why did you have to go
Baby I need you so
Chorus
The Sarah Geronimo song If Only sings of a love that was lost due to a change of heart. The lyrics revolve around the idea of wanting to be back in the arms of the person she loves. It expresses sadness, longing, and confusion towards why the other person had to leave. The lyrics suggest that the person who left must have thought that she could never love them for real. However, the singer asserts that the person meant everything to her and that she would live and die for them. The song carries a poignant message about the idea that if only they could be back together, they could make the love they knew back then work.
The lyrics of this song show an emotional depth that is relatable for many people who have experienced love, heartbreak, and longing. Listeners can connect with the singer's sense of loneliness and sense of regret. It's a performance that's both heartbreaking and hauntingly beautiful. The song's melody is also very pleasing to the ears, elevating the emotional content of the lyrics. Sarah Geronimo's vocal delivery is spot-on, perfectly conveying the song's sentiment.
