2 AM
Sascha Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Every time you say that you're going out I know I shouldn't stay but still I'm right there by your side And every time you call me 2:am at night You're drunk and you're lonely so I make you feel alrigh

Cause baby you know Yeah you know I would go anywhere for you Yeah baby you know Yeah you know I would do anything for you

But no you don't no you don't do the same for me I put you first cause I thought we were meant to be But no you don't no you don't do the same for me So why do I keep falling for you

So many nights you kept me waiting I'm tired of this shit You say that you're sorry and that you're gonna quit But you just tell me things I like to hear and everything around me disappears
Cause baby you know Yeah you know I would go anywhere for you Yeah baby you know Yeah you know I would do anything for you

But no you don't no you don't do the same for me I put you first cause I thought we were meant to be But no you don't no you don't do the same for me So why do I keep falling for you

I know that you're bad bad bad for me But still I go back back back to you Yeah I know that you're bad bad bad for me But still I go back to you

But no you don't no you don't do the same for me I put you first cause I thought we were meant to be But no you don't no you don't do the same for me So why do I keep falling for you

No you don't do the same for me

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Sascha's song "2 AM" depict the struggle of being in love with someone who doesn't reciprocate that same level of love and commitment. The singer is aware of the toxic nature of their relationship, as the other person continuously goes out and gets drunk, and only reaches out to the singer when they're lonely. Despite knowing that the other person isn't treating them fairly or putting in the same effort, the singer can't seem to let go of their feelings and keeps falling for them. The chorus showcases the singer's willingness to do anything and go anywhere for the other person, yet they never receive the same level of love and dedication in return.

The song's theme of unrequited love and the struggle to let go is relatable to many people who have been in similar situations. The lyrics paint a clear picture of the singer's inner turmoil and the pain that comes with loving someone who doesn't love them back. The use of the repeated phrase "I know that you're bad for me" emphasizes the conflict between the singer's heart and mind, as they're aware that the other person is not good for them, but they still can't help their feelings.

Overall, Sascha's "2 AM" is a poignant depiction of the struggle to come to terms with unrequited love and the pain that comes with it.

I can not even describe how many amazing, lovely, fun filled, life-changing evenings up-till-dawn weekends I've experienced to this album. I have no doubt, that when I'm dying, if someone were to ask me to name the top 10 albums of my life, this would be in the list. I turn 54 next week :-)
