Sloan spent her childhood outside of Boston and developed her musical skills by teaching herself to play the piano. During summers, she visited her grandparents' farm in Siberia, Russia. At the age of nineteen, Sloan relocated to Los Angeles with the aim of pursuing a career as a songwriter, supporting herself by working at a coffee shop. On February 6, 2019, she made her US national TV debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
In 2015, Sloan was featured in Kaskade's song "Phoenix" and started gaining recognition for her songwriting abilities. She went on to write songs for artists like Idina Menzel, Maggie Lindemann, and Camila Cabello. In 2017, she collaborated with Kygo on the song "This Town," which she co-wrote.
Sloan's debut EP, "Sad Girl," was released by RCA on April 18, 2018. She then co-wrote Juice WRLD's single "Black & White" and released her second EP, "Loser," on November 29, 2018. The EP was accompanied by her first headlining tour. Sloan performed her single "Older" from the album on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on February 6, 2019.
On October 18, 2019, Sloan released her third EP, "Self-Portrait," which explored themes of anxiety and introspection. She collaborated with Kygo on the single "I'll Wait" for his album "Golden Hour" in 2020, and the accompanying music video featured personal footage of Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek. Sloan announced her debut album, "Only Child," in August 2020, with the lead single "Lie" released shortly after. The album was released on October 16, 2020.
On November 19, 2020, Sloan collaborated with singer/songwriter Charlie Puth on the song "Is It Just Me?" She continued to release new music, including the acoustic-driven song "when was it over?" with Sam Hunt in April 2021. In March 2023, Sloan announced her departure from RCA Records, becoming an independent artist. She also performed at the 22nd Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2023.

I'd get shivers down my spine each time you touched me
Salt in your kiss from that 2AM swim
I wish I could put my arm around a memory
You can't control it, you can't help it when you fall in love
I'll give you everything, and now I've got to give you up
And I know it's over
Even if I knew it would end
Even if I knew we wouldn't walk away friends
I'd still do it again (still do it again)
Still do it again (still do it again)
All of those nights, still tattooed on my mind
No matter where I go you'll be a part of me forever
You can't control it, you can't help it when you fall in love
I'll give you everything, and now I've got to give you up
And I know it's over
But if it's any closure
Even if I knew it would end
Even if I knew we wouldn't walk away friends
I'd still do it again (still do it again)
Still do it again (still do it again)
Even if I knew it would end (even if I knew it would end)
Even if I knew we wouldn't walk away friends
I'd still do it again (still do it again)
Still do it again, still do it again
Sometimes I wanna call
'Cause even though it wasn't right (even though it wasn't right)
I still hope you're alright (I still hope you're alright)
Sometimes I wanna call
'Cause even though it wasn't right (Even though it wasn't right)
I still hope you're alright
'Cause even if I knew it would end (even if I knew it would end)
Even if I knew we wouldn't walk away friends
I'd still do it again (still do it again)
Still do it again (still do it again)
'Cause even if I knew it would end (even if I knew it would end)
Even if I knew we wouldn't walk away friends
I'd still do it again (still do it again)
Still do it again, and again, and again
(Even if I knew it would end)
(Even if I knew it would end)
(Even if I knew it would end)
(Even if I knew it would end)
(Even if I knew it would end)
(Even if I knew it would end)
The first verse of Sasha Sloan's song "Again" paints a picture of a relationship that was full of excitement and passion. The blue jeans and the hand on the knee suggest a casual, comfortable relationship, but the shivers down her spine from his touch indicate strong feelings. The salt in a kiss from an early morning swim is a detail that suggests a wild and spontaneous love, and the line "I wish I could put my arm around a memory" shows that the relationship is over, but still impossible to forget.
The chorus reveals the heartbreak that the singer is feeling. She gave everything to the relationship, but it's still over. Despite this, she reflects on how even if she knew it would end, she would still do it again. The memories of the past are "tattooed on her mind" and she knows that the relationship will always be a part of her.
In the second verse, there is an intense feeling of nostalgia as she remembers those nights that were so important to her. Even though she knows that she has to give up the relationship, it will always be a part of her. The bridge of the song has a bittersweet tone, as the singer hopes that her ex is doing okay, but still acknowledges that the relationship wasn't right. The repetition of the line "still do it again" creates a sense of longing and regret and highlights the complexity of human emotion.

@indieAir What is life? Life is the aspect of existence that processes, acts, reacts, evaluates, and evolves through growth (reproduction and metabolism). The crucial difference between life and non-life (or non-living things) is that life uses energy for physical and conscious development. Life is anything that grows and eventually dies, i.e., ceases to proliferate and be cognizant. Can we say that viruses, for example, are cognizant? Yes, insofar as they react to stimuli; but they are alive essentially because they reproduce and grow. Computers are non-living because even though they can cognize, they do not develop biologically (grow), and cannot produce offspring. It is not cognition that determines life, then: it is rather proliferation and maturation towards a state of death; and death occurs only to living substances.
