Soul
Satellite Soul Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tell you life don’t get no easier
No matter what you’ve found
It’s all about who you are inside
Here’s the message, now, loud and clear
You got to run the inner race
And find out what is there
These eyes are the lamp of my soul
(If one is pure it’s in the eyes)
These words are the overflow from my soul
(If one has love it’s in the words)
These hands will labor for my soul
(If one has faith it’s in the works)
You know life is all about soul
Listen children, now, here’s the word
Life don’t get no easier
No matter what you’ve heard
It’s all about who you are inside
Hear the message right where you are
If you will learn this one small thing
Then you’re sure to go real far
It’s all about who you are inside
The lyrics of Satellite Soul's song "Soul" encourage listeners to pay attention to their inner selves and who they truly are as people. The message is that life is not easy, but true success and fulfillment come from focusing on one's own soul, cultivating love and faith, and working hard to better oneself. The verses address the listener directly, urging them to pay attention: "Everybody won't you gather 'round... Listen children, now, here's the word." The repetition of the phrase "It's all about who you are inside" reinforces the idea that external circumstances and accomplishments pale in comparison to one's own inner character.
The metaphors used in the chorus are particularly striking. The eyes are called "the lamp of my soul," suggesting that one's true nature, intentions, and emotions are visible in their gaze. The words are described as "the overflow from my soul," implying that one's language and communication reveal much about the inner self. Finally, the hands are said to "labor for my soul," suggesting that one's actions and deeds should be motivated by a deep sense of purpose and morality. Overall, the song is a call to self-awareness and self-improvement, advocating for a focus on the intangible and spiritual elements of human identity.

When we visit our friends in KC we always try to stay for the service at Lakeland in hopes you are performing. Still remember the first time I heard "how I love you". Is there anyway/place I could get the sheet music to give to my music leader and try to get him to play that and this one? Or you could alway come to Lincoln Ne and perform it for us.

I don't know, but in 2006 they reformed and released 'Straight Back to Kansas' (Underdog Records). Then in 2009, the entire band recorded a 'solo album' under the name of the lead singer, Tim Scuttle.
