The band started in march of 2004, when Karen and Chanto got together to start a new music venture. This would be their second time together in a band, since they had previously been in Prana, a Trip Hop trio a few years back. Joe, Juan and Diego would latter join them, giving birth to SATIN DOLLS.
Influenced mainly by new wave, punk and a new worldwide rock scene, the band began writing songs. At the same time they started performing in the main Rock and Roll venues of Mexico City, and after just six months of playing together signed a record contract with Universal Music Mexico.
In October of 2005, the band traveled to Miami, to record part of their first E.P, with the Argentinean producer Gustavo Menendez (Volumen Cero, Circo, JD Natasha, Cohete). A few months latter, they recorded two more songs with Emmanuel "Meme" del Real, who happens to be a band member of Café Tacvba, and has worked as a producer with many artists (Ely Guerra, Natalia y la Forquetina, Liquits).
During these two years of playing together, Satin Dolls have been in places such as Bulldog, Hard Rock Live, Pasaguero, Salon 21, and Vive Latino. The band is currently promoting their new album, titled "Luces y Sombras" and their second single, "Perdiendo la Razón".

Dulce Obsesión
Satin Dolls Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Y ya me estás gustando
Te quiero en mi mundo
Pero a mi modo
Oh, oh, no puedo más
Sí, sí, lléname toda
Y mátame toda razón
Sí, sí, dámelo todo
Come mi imaginación
Y creo que te tengo miedo
Me voy, me voy con tu imagen
Te quiero a mi lado
Pero amarrado
Oh, oh, no puedo más
Sí, sí, lléname toda
Y mátame toda razón
Oh, oh, no quiero más
Sí, sí, dámelo todo
Come mi imaginación
Oh, oh, no puedo más
Sí, sí, lléname toda
Y mátame toda razón
Oh, oh, no quiero más
Sí, sí, dámelo todo
Come mi imaginación
The lyrics to Satin Dolls’ song Dulce Obsesion express the intense passion and desire that the singer, or possibly the character they are portraying, feels towards someone else. The opening lines convey how quickly and strongly the attraction has come on, with only five minutes passing before the singer finds themselves liking the other person. They express a desire to have this person in their life, but on their own terms - indicated by the line “Te quiero en mi mundo, pero a mi modo,” which translates to “I want you in my world, but in my own way.”
The chorus repeats the phrase “Oh, oh, no puedo más, sí, sí, lléname toda, y mátame toda razón” which translates to “Oh, oh, I can’t take it anymore, yes, yes, fill me up completely, and kill every reason.” These lines speak to the overwhelming nature of the feelings the singer is experiencing, as well as the desire to let go of reason and logic in favor of surrendering to the passion. The line “Come mi imaginación” which translates to “Eat my imagination” is another indication of the all-consuming nature of this obsession.
As the song progresses, the singer admits to feeling afraid of the intensity of their feelings, revealing that they want this person by their side but also feel the need to be tied down in some way. Throughout the entire song, the lyrics express a sense of being completely consumed by desire, unable to resist the pull of an intense attraction.
