A self-coined "fantasy pop" duo, Savoir Adore were born of a forty eight hours recording session. After signing to the Cantora label, they released, The Adventures of Mr. Pumpernickel and the Girl with Animals in her throat EP, on May 6, 2008. Although the group recorded its unique work as a pair, the dual vocalists rounded out their sound in concert with a three-piece backup band. Savoir Adore were well received by the New York music scene, and they released a full-length debut album, In the Wooded Forest, in 2009.
Other records include Machines EP (May 16, 2009), and Our Nature, released on June 4, 2013. Their single "Pop Goes The World" (a cover of the 1987 song by Men Without Hats) was released on February 22, 2012 and was featured on a commercial for Tide Pods.
Their song "Dreamers" was used in Pro Evolution Soccer 2013.

And then inside a memory appeared and said to me
"Don't be afraid of the way the things are supposed to be"
Nobody told me it's okay to grow
I didn't know
Far from the sounds of the city she knows
I didn't know
Honestly, did you really think I would let you leave?
Honestly, did you really think of me?
I was afraid of everything you came to know and love
I didn't know that there was anything you were scared of
Nobody told me that I had to grow
I didn't know
Far from the sounds of the city I know
I didn't know
Honestly, did you really think I would let you leave?
Honestly, did you even think of me?
Honestly, did you really think I would let you leave?
Honestly, did you even think of me?
I was afraid of everything you came to know and love
Honestly, did you really think I would let you leave?
Honestly, did you even think of me?
Honestly, did you really think I would let you leave?
Honestly, did you even think of me?
The lyrics of "Honestly" by Savoir Adore mainly focus on the fear of losing someone dear to us. The first verse starts with the fear of rejection and uncertainty, leading to a sense of insecurity in a relationship. The singer is reminiscing about the past and how something from the past appeared to him and said not to be afraid of the way things are supposed to be. The second verse speaks of the fear of not knowing how to grow, constantly feeling lost in life. The chorus of the song uses repetition to show how somebody could doubt someone else's love for them.
The song "Honestly" is about the realization that if someone really loves you, they will not leave. However, sometimes love can be complicated, and both parties need time to grow and learn about each other. The bridge of the song also emphasizes the fear of losing someone, and the singer wants to know if the other person has ever thought of them in the same way. Overall, the song expresses the emotional vulnerability of being in a relationship and the importance of communication, trust, and growth.
