Savoy Brown Lyrics

Chris Youlden-Chrysalis Music Ltd.
Don't worry 'bout the morning
Because the day might never come
Don't worry 'bout the future
Just stay while the night is young

Don't pretend that it's your first time
Don't pretend that it's no fun
Don't tell me 'bout your mother
Just stay while the night is young

It's so easy to relax if you try
Please don't think about the time going by
You can tell me 'bout the things on your mind
Just lie back and unwind

Just experience the moment
Instead of thinking what's to come

Can't have the fall before the summer
So stay while the night is young

I’m 67 and have been into music since I was 12. I have over 5,000 albums in addition to cassettes, CDs and even a few 8-tracks and there is no doubt that I have played this album more than any other one over the years. The guitar work, vocals, strings and horns were so great and totally unique for that time. I still play Street Corner Talking and other Savoy Brown music, saw them live in their prime as well as much later on, but this is by far my favorite.

To me this is one of the best albums ever. This record is a complete sound package. Smooth smoky blues/jazz nightclub sound. Two instrumentals, horns, great riffs by Kim Simmonds and words that evoke thought and feelings.

Brilliant song from a fantastic band ....I have been an avid fan for nearly fifty years.

@JacksonNovem

Bullshit they removed this from all streaming platforms I fell in love with this record and Chris Youldens resonant voice…. At least i can still find it here 😌

@whatsanme

ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER!

@tuxguys

Blues-rock stretched to the max... Kim Simmonds is almost playing jazz here... Youlden sings like he's channeling some great black baritone from a generation before... another great cut from one of the darkest, and best, LP's ever made by a rock band. 1969? Unbelievable... I was there, and I still can't believe it.

@jeanpinheiro7020

One of my favorite songs . Cheers from Brazil.

@lhcarter

i know it ! Youlden was brilliant! - Savoy Brown was a really good, very unappreciated band ...a million people should've bought this album just for this song alone

@rockradstone

Very true. 😉

@originalmrjojangles

Chris Youlden such a tremendous singer, and as all of you know, this is one fine album. I could add a few many don't know, such as "Last Exit" and "John Barleycorn" by Traffic, "Liege and Lief" by Fairport Convention, so many others. Want to get your night or weekend rolling? Find "Searching For Madge" by the "real" Fleetwoood Mac with Peter Green.
