Say Hi To Your Mom (presently Say Hi) is a Seattle-based, indie-pop/lo-fi rock group. Formed by Eric Elbogen in Brooklyn 2002, Say Hi's albums are mostly recorded at Elbogen's home, with him playing a majority of the instruments and providing vocals.
On tour, friends accompany Elbogen as his backing band.
Their fourth release, Impeccable Blahs, was written almost entirely about vampires, though Star Trek is also mentioned. The song "Angels and Darlas" is a reference to Angel and Darla from the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff Angel both created by Joss Whedon.
With the release of their fifth album The Wishes and the Glitch, the band shortened their name to "Say Hi".This was done because the earlier name reflected an aesthetic that no longer matched the band's tastes.
Elbogen's lyrics are noted as being one of the band's strengths.

And the blizzard that came and left
And we played twister till our joints got sore
Again
And I need to take it off
And for a little while
And I need to take it off
We watched it all covered white
And we played twister till our joints got sore
Again
And I need to take it off
And for a little while
And I need to take it off
And I need to take it off
And for a little while
And I need to take it off
The lyrics to Say Hi To Your Mom's song "Blizzard" seem to be about a memorable night spent with someone special during a blizzard. The opening lines "The bliss your hair and count / And the blizzard that came and left" depict a moment of intimacy and closeness with the person, possibly implying that they were counting each other's hair, which can be seen as a playful way of expressing affection. The blizzard that came and went could also represent a fleeting moment of passion or an intense emotional experience that left a mark on them.
The lyrics go on to describe playing twister till their joints were sore, highlighting a fun and playful element to the relationship. The repetition of the lines "And I need to take it off / And for a little while" could suggest a desire to break free from the constraints of everyday life and spend time with the person, uninterrupted by the outside world. The line "We watched it all covered white" adds to the imagery of the snow-covered scenery, and the line "Yea we thought the moon beams froze that night" creates a dreamlike quality to the memory.
Overall, "Blizzard" seems to be a nostalgic and romantic song about a memorable night spent with someone special during a winter storm. The lyrics paint a picture of an intense and passionate relationship, full of playful moments and a desire for escape.
