Recording as Akshen, he began his career recording solo for Rap-A-Lot Records, a local label in Houston, Texas. In the late 1980s, he joined the Geto Boys as they were forming and released We Can't Be Stopped, a highly successful LP that garnered the Geto Boys a large fanbase, in spite of their ultra-violent lyrics keeping them far from radio and MTV. Akshen changed his name to Scarface (he even changed his flow from a rapid-fire Kool G Rap-like delivery to normal flow, this time with a darker tone), after the film Scarface, saying he felt that the main character of the movie was just like him in many ways. Scarface soon released his debut solo album, Mr. Scarface Is Back. The album was a success, and Scarface's popularity soon overshadowed the other Geto Boys.
Scarface left the group and released a series of solo albums that kept him in the public view in spite of decreasing sales. He turned this around with 2000's Last of a Dying Breed, which received overwhelmingly positive reviews and sales, and earned him Lyricist of the Year at the Source Awards. In 2002 he released The Fix, the critically acclaimed follow up to Last of a Dying Breed. In 2007 he released Made which overall recieved very positive reviews.

And the winner is, Trick Diesel
Facemob
My nigga Baby, ha ha
Gangsta, gangsta, gangsta
[Chorus]
You know me, 'T' double, you know I'm a G
gangsta, gangsta than a motherfucker
But it was like you, you a pussy nigga
But I keeps it gangsta, gangsta, gangsta
gangsta, gangsta than a motherfucker
[Trick Daddy]
Went to a eight ball from a dime piece
Ship dat, flip dat, bought a nine piece in five weeks
Shit lookin' good but I think slammin'
Me and my dawg passed up bought a block and a half
Sellin' O's or betta clockin a fag
Bout four, five slugs and we was bustin' they ass
Gotta keep my bread in a safe place
We up with my hitchens in undisclosed locations
Hey yo I got the llello, you got the money
Try nothin' funny and I don't buy dummies
Every ounce betta bounce back
And every brick that I break up
It all betta flake up
And when that shit hit the waters
Shit go to ballin'
That dope all betta fall in
I bought coke back on 84
Back when wood used to get them bricks from the Birdo
And when I hit him I want to hurt him
And on cutlass I want to hit it
They ass gon' feel it
[Chorus]
[Baby]
Ay, ay, ay, ay
It's the kid wit the bricks taped up in the grill
Mmmm Hmmmm Cadillac that is
Wit that rag top bubbly E class burnin' rubber
You the number 1 stunna ma show a lil somthin'
Ay, ay roll a lil somethin'
Mmmm Hmmmm blow a lil somethin'
I got them thangs for a lil nothin'
If you got a lil money I'ma throw a lil somethin'
Bump this nigga
Mmmm Hmmmm fuck you nigga
We ain't from 'round here dumpin' on niggas
But ay Trick Daddy battle up for this nigga
Well let me get to my hustle (hustle)
I got bricks, grams, and bundles (bundles)
I got ki's in the muffler
Birdman daddy CMB motherfucker
[Chorus]
[Scarface]
Face mob, right back at ya
With O's like cookies I flip like spatulas
99.9 of the time I'm on the grind
Bricked up and breakin' em down
I got to admit the dope game gravy
3 zippers balled up you bring back 80
You learn to swell you might see double
Remember you can't sell bubble
So here it is fool
I play the game where its no rules
Givin' you lessons from the old school
You don't get high off your own supply
And when a motherfucker cross you make sure he die
Make the next man know he got to think about the payback
This shit go deeper than me rapping or me say that
Ask my nigga Trick Daddy, ask my nigga Baby
Been like that since the early 80's
[Chorus]
βGangstaβ is a hip-hop song by Scarface, Trick Daddy, and Baby. The song revolves around the life of gangsters who sell drugs and become rich. Scarface opens the song by claiming how he flips dope like a spatula and works 99.9% of his time. He acknowledges that the dope game is gravy, and if you go against someone, you have to make sure they die. Scarface explains to the listeners that his involvement in the rap industry is not just limited to delivering rhymes but also giving them lessons from his experience. Scarface urges people not to get high from their own supply and make sure they seek payback when oppressed. The chorus of the song is a warning to their competitors that they keep it Gangsta and will continue to do so.
Β
Trick Daddy's verse contributes to the song's theme of gang violence and selling drugs. He talks about how he and his friend bought a block and a half, clocks a fag and busts their asses by shooting them. Trick Daddy also tells about being aware of his actions and keeping his bread in a safe place. He emphasizes that the drugs he sells should only bounce back and flake up. Trick wants his drug to sell and fall in the hands of buyers effectively. In his view, drugs are a business, and he punishes those who steal from him.
Scarface, Trick Daddy, and Baby made "Gangsta" to show the grim reality of the drug business, especially in impoverished neighborhoods. The artists emphasize the importance of survival, showing how drug dealers and their gangs will go to extreme measures such as killing to survive.
