Running to Babylon
Run all the way to Babylon
Meet you there in Babylon
Meet you there in Babylon

Running to Babylon
Run all the way to Babylon
Meet you there in Babylon
Meet you there in Babylon

Marooned again, you were the one that threw me into life
Marooned again, you were the one that looked through the sadder light
I liked the way we slept on rooftops in the summertime
If we were all marooned again, I'd give my soul to save you

Marooned again, you were the one that put me in defense
Marooned again, you were the one that took my confidence
I liked the way we slept on rooftops in the summertime
If we were all marooned again, I'd give my soul to save your life

Running from Babylon
Run all the way to Babylon
Meet you there in Babylon

Meet you there in Babylon...
Babylon...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Scars on Broadway's song Babylon could be interpreted in different ways. One interpretation is that the song is about two friends who are on a constant quest for adventure and excitement. They are running towards Babylon, which could be seen as a metaphor for a utopian destination, a place where their dreams and desires are fulfilled. The chorus repeats the phrase "running to Babylon" and "meet you there in Babylon," implying a sense of urgency and determination to reach their destination.

The two friends in the song have been through difficult times, as suggested by the lines "Marooned again, you were the one that threw me into life" and "Marooned again, you were the one that put me in defense." However, they found solace in each other's company and the memories they shared, such as sleeping on rooftops in the summertime. The repetition of the phrase "If we were all marooned again, I'd give my soul to save you" reinforces the bond between the two friends and their willingness to protect each other, no matter what.

Overall, Babylon is a song that encapsulates the yearning for adventure, friendship, and the desire to escape. The song's lyrics are open to interpretation, but they offer a glimpse into the emotional connections we make in our lives and the importance of having someone to share the journey with.

This song is really fantastic.

I wake up thinking in it.

I suppose it's one of my favourite from the first album.

Also, this is really a great album. I would like to particularly mention the use of keyboards on every track, that just added this special sound to the whole work.

Personally, the second album is shit, altho have a few hits. I felt the lack of musical prodution in it. A raw sound... Without much pleasently to the ears haha (like keyboards could have done the job).

After almost 10 years of not listening to Scars on Broadway, for some reason I suddenly have the urge to listen to this song again. I now remember why I listened to them in the first place.
